Are any current players/commits recruiting Starling?​

“I’ve heard from every school, whether it’s guys on the team or the commits but I’m not gonna lie, the most I’ve heard from is Duke,” Starling said. “I’m cool with Kyle (Filipowski), I’m cool with Dariq (Whitehead). We’ve been playing against each other for so long. We see each other all the time. We just saw each other at the Slam thing, you know and there always going to be like ‘come to Duke, come to Duke, come team up’ and stuff like that. So yeah, I’d definitely say the Duke commits.”

It was on a Locked On Syracuse podcast interview with Gutierrez. I’ll listen to that part and try to transcribe it. But I’ve heard it elsewhere as well. Syracuse is not out front on the NIL.

Interesting that he’s hearing more from the Duke than kids he grew up playing with?
 
I’m almost more surprised a kid who grew up a UNC fan may end up at Duke. Almost like he’s doing it out of spite for not being offered by his childhood team.

Its too bad. The staff just cant seem to get over the hump. 2 good recruits to bad they couldn't land a great class.
 
Buddy working on JJ who is also a Syracuse/City Rocks kid...
