Yes, but when you have 10+ bouncy athletic guys, PLAY THEM, make them play hard while they're out there, then send in the next shock troops. You wear down these pre-season opponents when you run athlete after athlete out there and defend them hard.
And the Colgates of the world cut you to ribbons with precision ball movement and shooting.

Long arms and quick feet can make it difficult to pass quickly to the open guy… They just aren’t open as often when everybody guarding them is long armed and an explosive athlete.

As excited as I am about the skill level of Fennell and the other guards, I’m excited to watch Kyle, Freeman, Souare and White on defense, and see how disruptive they can be.

They definitely targeted a specific body type this transfer season.

White would be like 4th in the pecking order of the center rotation. Souare and Freeman are both ahead of him.

Freeman sees his future as a SF in the NBA, like Kevin Durant. He shot 30% of his shots from three in a half a season last year. He may play PF, and would be great at the high post, but he is not a center defensively.

He can’t come close to guarding a three in the NBA. He’s a four at any level he plays. He’s closer to a five than a three.

Well he’s 6’10” and hopefully close to 215 this year. White does not have the height or weight that Freeman does. He’s super skinny. If we play small ball he will play the 5. That said I do not get caught up in positions outside of point guard in 2025.

He's a rising sophomore in college. Why not see what kind of improvements he makes this year before you say that.

The NBA is all about projecting who the player MAY TURN INTO, not who he is right now.

And, whether you like it or not:

(1) Freeman didn't come back to be Maliq Brown; this is an NBA audition sesason; and

(2) Last year, Freeman lacked the strength to simpy hold on to rebounds, which were routinely ripped out of his hands around 3 times a game by opponents.

sticking freeman at center will not help him at all with his nba dreams...and thats what recruits want

tyler lydon wasnt a center either...neither is maliq brown...nor dolezaj

i cannot stand this programs infatuation with sticking non-centers in the C spot...its been the same thing with PG for the longest time

comes from JB imo

and its something that needs to go the way of the dodo

it got way out of hand with him using players out of their positions...like JG3 at PG...honestly think thats the number one reason he got the boot

You’re overreacting. He won’t be playing Lydon or Brown minutes at center. We are simply saying he’s in front of White for center minutes. Kyle is the starting center.

And FWIW Brown played center for Duke this year when he played. They might have been the National Champion had he played more minutes in the FF.

I think it’s likely Freeman will be the tallest/biggest player on the court for us frequently this season. Not because he’s a center, but because his being center is the best lineup we can put on the court. Freeman/White and three guards might be better than Souare/Freeman and three guards.

When Kyle is on the bench, a lot is going to depend on the White/Souare/Betsey position grouping.

im not necessarily predicting freeman will be playing a lot at center...but with this roster, it wouldnt surprise me..and furthermore, i think the only way the coaches can be comfortable with the center depth is if they in fact see freeman playing some at center (again, im not optimisitc about that gambit ...but we'll have to wait and see)

and FWIW mauluach and ngongba combined to average over 30.mins a game this season and both are listed as centers on dukes page...meanwhile brown is listed as a Forward. so not sure how he couldve played more than token minutes at center for duke this year...(i didnt watch though)

therefore, not sure what youre getting at, but i didnt like maliq at center for the orange... far too often got taken advantage of by a competent post presence. if duke wouldve won a natty with maliq at center it wouldnt have been due to him, imo

Is this like how sometimes you don't know if bi-annual means twice a year or every other year?
For a quick moment, I thought you were over sharing yearly birthday and anniversary “gifts” from your wife.

What kind of “guarantee” are you offering, Matt?

I think you're spending too much time on proposition betting apps, Mr. Bond.

If both of you are curious, does that make you bi-curious?
