First impression Luke is a 4 minute guy learning D1 ball this year. True to his highlights he has that long armed 1 hand loose dribble a mile from his body. A walking turnover. Glad to have him but expect nothing in 25-26.

I'm not ready to go that far based on this.

He's definitely nowhere close to being a point guard though, for sure.

Hard to take much from this. Australia looks pretty overmatched. Fennell has played better than Furphy at times during this season. Not his best game.
Yes though this is by far the best competition they have faced in their lifetime if I would have to guess. Fennell playing solid. If he was playing lights out, we would be freaking out right now lol.

The Sulipa kid for Aus would be a nice developmental prospect. Rugby player whos got decent size, athleticism and physical

I wonder if the balls are over-inflated. Seems to be pretty bouncy, including shots off the rim. Maybe that explains some of the shaky ball handling.

Fennell comes in and turns it over on an inbound entry pass

I have to say Furphy is going to be a good player for UConn immediately. Very solid, high IQ, good shooter.
The guy the Aussies have playing point guard has no field goals and 1 assist through 3 quarters, That tells me he isn't a point guard and shouldn't be playing ahead of Fennell.
That's in 20 minutes, as JB used to say about players like Conrad when he got 1 rebound, a dead man could get more.
When you are supposed to be the point guard
and in 20 minutes you get 0 baskets and 1 assist you belong on the bench.

For sure definitely agree Fennell should’ve been playing a lot more in this game.

Wait is Carlos from Australia lol

Well, that was a bit underwhelming. We saw Luke get trapped and stripped. We saw a couple turnovers. He makes quick decisions when he passes the ball. I think he went 1-3 from three. I noticed that he is very aware defensively of where the shooter might be, and he boxes out well, and consistently. Nice handle, but he could be pressured.

All-in-all my assessment is that Fennell did fine. Showed some vision.. showed some defense. He didn’t assert himself much on offense, but he also didn’t look overwhelmed and overmatched.

I can see him being a decent reserve this year who can turn into a significant contributor in year 2.

If he had played instead of the nothing burger that played 20+ minutes he probably would have settled down and played better. Whoever the coach is needs to sit the starter, you can't go 0-7 with 2 assists in 20+ minutes and start on any level.

Things to definitely like about his game that still showed up today.Games like this are tough I mean you go from your club to international play all while soon heading to college overseas. Let’s see how he looks once hes on campus and playing with the guys he will for the next year.

Roman Siulepa might be ACC-bound.

Who knew ACC stood for Australia Coast Conference?
