I’d be shocked if any of our freshmen “push” JJ for playing time. Coaches don’t take seniors off the floor for freshmen. JJ is a three year starter. It just doesn’t happen. They may get a few minutes here and there, but they will not push JJ off the court for any length of time. JJ will play nearly, if not more than thirty minutes a game. If anyone pushes him it will be Kingz.

Unless he makes the “senior” jump and figures out defense, which I do not think will happen, more than 30 mpg would be too many, maybe 25.

Having Betsey beat out Kingz for a starting role might increase our ceiling. Then Kingz comes in if Betsey or Starling start the game cold for instant offense.

Betsey is another athletic, tall player with 7’ wingspan, but this one has some guard skills. If he could play like a forward with guard skills instead of a guard who happens to have forward height, it would be a big deal.

Hypothetically, if Betsey beats out Kingz for the starter spot, Kingz becomes competition for minutes for both Starling and Betsey.

I agree, I think Betsey is likely first off the bench with Kingz starting in a three guard lineup. I was doing another what if type scenario. I don’t have Red’s thought processes down like I used to have JB’s.

Betsey has tantalizing raw ability, including small forward skills in classic power forward size.

Assuming the starters are Kyle, Freeman, Kingz, Starling and George, Betsey could come in for four different players and still have a workable lineup.

I would be very suprised if Betsey beats out Kingz. There nowhere near the same level.
