Apropos of nothing, I still laugh to myself when I remember your brat summer post.that sh right there magma hot
One year during the BET, we were told we had to check out this new Autsralian bar (somewhere) in the city. We get like two blocks from it and the cabbie pulls over. Says that’s as far as he goes. Well there’s four of us, so we walk through what evidently was a very shady area (without incident) and enter the bar. As I recall, they only had Fosters and a shot load of Aussies. I don’t really recall much after that, other than I think we had a good time. The best to party with. I backpacked in Europe 1995, met a friend and travelled to different countries with this guy from Boston and an Aussie rules football player.
Phenomenal time spent with these strangers. The Australian was larger than life, so funny, so popular with people we met and only smiles and laughter. He also had a knack for keeping us out of trouble on a few close calls!
Have to dig up my diary one day and relive it.
What's the bar set at? Buddy?that sh right there magma hot

I had to reply to this even if it does show my age. I actually played against warwell in High School when he played at candor. You couldn't dunk in this days but in warm ups people were going and gagging because he could put his elbow up by the rim when warming up. My claim to fame is blocking one of his shot from behind when he don't know I was there..lolFed by Cliff Warwell!
Had high hopes for both!He was a piece of work. His game was a little wild but with some flash. He didn’t last long at SU. I wonder where he is today. Billy Keys and the Harmon kid out of NJ are a couple of others that never panned out.
How about Reggie Powell? 360 dunk in warmups had never seen that at the timeHad high hopes for both!
Except that Furby blocks almost 4 times as many shots!!!!UConn just got a verbal from the same Australisn NBL1 team Luke Fennell plays on. His name is Jacob Furphy.
I am encouraged to see that Luke actually has better statistics.

Should we be discouraged the Hurley didn’t try to take our guy, or is that more roster compositionUConn just got a verbal from the same Australisn NBL1 team Luke Fennell plays on. His name is Jacob Furphy.

Good grief. Our guy is a point guard. Furphy is not.Should we be discouraged the Hurley didn’t try to take our guy, or is that more roster composition
Is he the brother of the Furphy that went to Kansas?Good grief. Our guy is a point guard. Furphy is not.
No, they are not related. Is he the brother of the Furphy that went to Kansas?
I know Furphy had 21 in the Asia Cup final in September, where I think a lot of the players got major exposure. Maybe got some extra attention from that? Luke only had 11 in the final but had 24 in the semi-final.I find it interesting that they both play on the same team yet only one (Furphy) has a ranking on 247. You would think that the people evaluating and assigning rankings/stars watched games in which Fennell also played.

For me the bar is Sherman, it is a very high bar. What a great team we had with him running the show.J.Carey
Right. IDK UConn’s needs. If they are set at PG, makes sense.Good grief. Our guy is a point guard. Furphy is not.
Michigan had a kid commit to them right before Fennell committed to usFunny how teams seem to be right behind us when we are onto a kid early. Furphy is a different kid but funny how all the sudden UConn has a talented Aussie. Both are good players but I like Fennells all around game a little more. Either way hope we keep tapping the overseas talent pool.
