The coach for some reason played the 2 backcourt point guards who neither one was a scorer in the first 3 games. You have to have balance for a good team.Should have played more earlier. He was the best player for them today.

The head coach might get canned by the Australian federation for not playing him more sooner. They aren't fond of losing, or better players sitting, when they should be playing. So I definitely watched his worst game.
Small sample, but Fennell fired up an average of 4 three point shots in 15.6 minutes of playing time. He made 50% from three over the five games. Importantly, after not doing much in his first two games, his two best were in the elimination rounds. Here are Luke’s numbers for the tournament.

They still have 2 more games to play. Tomorrow they'll be in a 5th to 8th game and then the last one on Sunday.Australia getting crushed by Germany in the QFs. Looks like Fennell will be in CNY soon enough.
They have two more games to play. Tomorrow and Sunday for placing. I wonder if the Australian coach will play him more.So I definitely watched his worst game.
Thank you! Didn't realize that. Good experience for him. They still have 2 more games to play. Tomorrow they'll be in a 5th to 8th game and then the last one on Sunday.
And he played a lot of minutes in the win over Israel in the last game. It seems it took the coaching staff 2 games to realize he needed to be on the floor.![]()

May not be a true point guard, but probably with his size can play 3 positions 1-3, and needs to be on the floor. Every team needs a glue guy who does all the little things on offense and defense.Yep modest numbers today but still efficient. He doesn’t force things much and is just a smart player. Plays hard whether being featured or not as well.
100%. He has the aura of a winner. I’m just imagining him coming off the bench next season and the opposing team and its fans are going to be thinking and saying, are you joking, we have to deal with this guy now lol.Disclaimer: I only watched the Germany game.
Yes, Fennell had 18, but a few things actually look promising. Above all, I like his attitude. He actually has a chip on his shoulder. He got a tech lol. He brought them back in that game by himself. Making threes is whatever, but I like that he can actually create his own shot a bit. And a few nifty finishes at the rim around a much bigger German team. Again, the attitude is what impressed me the most. Enough of us having choir boys. Hopefully it all translates!

He 100% tries hard to get up on his man and fight through screens. Every now and then a quicker guard seems to be able to get by him. But the fact that he is making an effort on that end is great.Well said - that’s what has stuck out to me in all the games. Kid is a fiery competitor. Hopefully he can be an example of how important it is to fight hard through screens in man defense as well.
This team needs a gritty, sandpaper tough guy who will play run through a brick wall defense on someone and be content with it.May not be a true point guard, but probably with his size can play 3 positions 1-3, and needs to be on the floor.
