Yup I prefer Bethea but if that doesn’t work out, Lewis is one hell of a back up if we ended up with him.Mikey Lewis it nice, but we are certainly looking at Jalil Bethea for that role and he is almost definitely a one-and-done and then the next year we are looking at Tyler Jackson. We may become PGU very quickly. I love that Red and Co. are identifying dawgs early and going after them instead of backing off at the first sign of a fight with the douchebag bluebloods. Screw them. SU has the Dome, history good facilities and great opportunity.
It doesn’t matter who SU is looking at. Who wants SU is the question?Mikey Lewis it nice, but we are certainly looking at Jalil Bethea for that role and he is almost definitely a one-and-done and then the next year we are looking at Tyler Jackson. Full court press on Bethea and if that doesn’t work out in our favor we grab a stud PG from the portal. I would be happy with that plan.I don't think we will see Mikey wear our Orange
Hate this attitude.Well that's too bad. The better these guys play in high visibility situations the less chance we have of getting them. The blue bloods will now be all over him.
Not that surprised, I think were all in on Bethea.Syracuse misses the cut

He knows that the best guard in his class will be Orange by winterWow I’m surprised. I thought we would at least continue through the process. Maybe he saw too many guards on the roster?
Bethea is CuseHe knows that the best guard in his class will be Orange by winter
I'm just gonna go ahead and take this as pertaining to JalilMikey was my favorite back up. However, we aren’t going to need a back up.
Agreed.Mikey was my favorite back up. However, we aren’t going to need a back up.
Welp this and other posts like this one hurt to see on this threadHe knows that the best guard in his class will be Orange by winter
FWIW, I just heard back from a recruiting analyst, and he said that Lewis hasn't heard from SU in a while...
Agreed. When it comes to needing a lead guard for immediate impact, unless it's an elite freshman recruit en route to the NBA I'd rather hand the keys to a transfer. Even if Judah and JJ get drafted, I wonder if Red expects Copeland and Westry to slide into the starting lineup, or if he'll be banking on the portal for a starter.Bethea was the bonus recruit of sorts- the kind of kid in 24 if you could land, like we almost did, you see it to the end because of the talent level. Would make sense they don't overreact to this with Choppa in the fold and some things to sort out once the season starts around what to expect roster wise in 24. Portal makes the most sense along with how aggressive the staff has been with a longer list in the '25 class.
