I really wish Cuse did midnight madness right. It could be a lot better without a whole lot of effort. I'll continue to attend cuz I'm a junkie but it's nothing to be proud of. And if I'm bored by it as a middle age dude, I can't imagine teenagers are blown away. UK does it right and packs the place. I'm sure it leaves a lasting impression for recruits on the fence.

Less juggling, better music acts and a sound system you can hear and understand would be a start. There is no flow of events; fans sit on their hands for half an hour at a time waiting for anything to happen. Students are ok but the rest of the crowd is dead silent the whole time because of "dead" time and lack of excitement.

I believe if the investment is made to improve, dividends will be paid later. One big recruit can sell a lot of tickets and pave the path for others to sign.

We hired a creative mind as AD, hopefully he'll see the value after this year.
 
Better musical performances, better player intros, more former players come back, this year they should really focus on both teams making the FF, get the fans more involved, etc...there's a lot more they can do
 
Get the group Stomp there, trampoline acrobats, and a few bounce houses for the kids. You can start there.

To be honest they tried that and people like you shut it down. I don't mean you personally, but "middle aged dude" types have a very different definition of "better music acts" than 17 year old basketball players do. People were up in arms about stabbings and curse words in the lyrics and stuff and so it got scrapped and now the most edgy thing you'll get is an Up With People cover act. You can't have it both ways.

I get that but there's no age group that likes juggling or an hour of lip syncing.

To be honest I don't give a crap what some guy in his mid 30's thinks. I want it for recruits that should be the point. If you need a place to take your 8 year old go to Chuck E. Cheese.
 
Maybe I missed it, but Midnight Madness needs to go back to Manley. The Dome is a tomb with 8-12K people, and that isn't what
a recruit wants to see.

I highly doubt anyone becomes the favorite for someone after spending lots of time say "we like you a lot; we like [others] better", either
directly or indirectly.

Manley was remodeled. It doesn't have a court anymore.

Just once I'd like to see us beat UK on a major recruit. Coleman doesn't count since he was a local.
 
Ok, his visit to UK for Big Barf Madness is an unofficial visit. Not sure we can read anything into this, but we can sure as hell try. I have my big thick orange colored glasses and the fact that it is unofficial leads me to believe that he won't be there under any obligation, which is a good thing for us. Does that make any sense?
