Big East in Basketball will be fine. Even if Uconn and rutgers jump they still have:
Louisville
St johns
Cinci
Villanova
West Virg
Marquette
Seton Hall
Providence
Depaul
South Florida

That is still a very strong conf. And eliminating 4 eastern teams may improve their recruiting.

If UConn & Rutgers go to the ACC & if Texas, Tx Tech, Oklahoma, and Ok St bolt the Big 12 -- have to think WVU, Louisville, Cincy, TCU merge with Iowa St, Kansas, Kansas St, Baylor, Missouri (If they don't end up in the SEC or Big 10) and create a new conference. The Big East would become a much different basketball-focused conference.

Yep, the hoops-onlies will be in a league of their own before this decade ends. And look for them to try to join with the best non-majors out there (Butler, Xavier, maybe even Gonzaga).

You do realize Gonzaga is a small private school located in Spokane, WA?

It's not like there are a ton of flights from Spokane to Providence every day.

Looks Like the Big East is already making overtures to the potential Big 12 remnants to solidify the football league. The Big East will have more of a mid west flavor though.
