Okay Yankee Tavern is it. Look for a Cuse Flag.
They have a large selection of beer and food. The owner said if the outdoor patio is open they can get up to 300 in there. I recommend getting there early and grab a table. They will open at 9am.
They finished a large remodel on the place and looks great.
Finally heard from the Bronx Drafthouse too. I told them we'll also send folks there too. They will open early at 10am for the game. I recommend checking it out too.

I am torn because I want to go to the primary meet but I find Tavern gets VERY crowded and not as fun (and i likely cant arrive till wrll after 10) . Still may end up at Drafthouse. Not sure.

I'll probably go to both...I'll start at YT and grab an early lunch...head over for a beer at BD after 12:30

Just backed into going to this game!
Taking a solo trip to Baldwinsville to drive my father’s truck/tow his boat to Florida. Was going to fly right to Syracuse, but a little detour to the Bronx for a Cuse bowl game sounds even better! Still have to grab a ticket, but I’m in.
Flight gets in to LGA at 9:57. Hitting the rental car counter and heading toward the stadium. Going to try and park and make it to one of these bars pregame. Hopefully I’ll catch ya’s there!

Check out Spot Hero online for a parking pass beforehand. Driving through the Bronx looking for parking on Gameday would be rough.

Yankee Tavern is a classic. Dates back to 1923. Legend has it The Babe himself would come in for drinks.
Much of the space is a long but very narrow bar area and it does fill up fast.

Mark, Extremely small bar for any kind of gathering.
Which makes it not a place for rookies and 1 timers either.
I’d stick to Billy’s or the Dugout.
Havnt been to the Drafthouse and there’s a another bar near it, but I’d hesitate sending people too far off the main furrow for this one.
You’re looking at a Tuesday in early April versus the Royals type crowd.

im going to try to make the meetup before the game probably towards mid day , as im doing a quick stop at the world trade center memorial and 1 world observatory on my way as I have always wanted to go and the price was reasonable and it isnt crazy out of the way for me.

Drafthouse is only a block away, no? I am thinking it may be just far enough to find some space for a group.tl actually socialize? I plan on popping into both Tavern and Drafthouse and staying where it's most comfortable

Mark, I haven’t heard anybody mention Stan’s. That was always the place to go when going to Yankee Stadium. There was even a. Stan’s in Ft Lauderdale when the Yankees trained there.

I think “still in business” is an understatement. Three or four deep at the bar for every Yankees home game and a big crowd outside.

Problem with Stan's is I have 2 under 21s and there is no less expensive alcohol free option. Not paying $50 for 3 pepsis
Unless Yankee Tavern is less crowded than expected , I think I am still planning on hitting Bronx Drafthouse. Probably around 11. Better beer and less crowded. Anyone who shows up there feel free to reach out. DM here and I'm happy to exchange cell numbers.
