So the Acropolis thread had me thinking pizza, naturally.
My wife and I as our occasional cheat meal every month got into making detroit style pizza and I have to say it's becoming a favorite.
She is a wiz in the kitchen and should have gone to culinary school but otherwise makes a really easy to make dough with the dough hook in her commercial mixer, a few hours of rising, resting putting in the steel pan designed for detroit style, resting again and then loading it up, into the oven and boom.
Best Homemade non pizza oven cooked pizza I've ever had. Nice and crispy on the outside and evenly cooked for a deep dish. Started a papa John's like sauce too and that is perfect on top of the Brick Cheese.
Got some local butcher pepperoni and wings to go with. Gotta be honest- hard to think of getting Pizza out much (unless traveling) anymore.
Sorry to offer the late night munchies to anyone but figured there is always room for a pizza thread.
