Knock you freakin' socks off. Nobody sees it unless they bookmark the page, and want to enter. A moderator will be picked from the small pool of reasonable posters in the forum.

My only real goal is to clean up the recruiting boards. At one time the recruiting threads were the biggest reason people visited.

Here's a graph worth looking at. Not a very good trend.

It's cyclic, like global warming and the patriots cheating

I know y'all are having a little fun in the off season, but the diehards and lurkers who come here for recruiting news stop reading the threads once they devolve.

If you want a place to say what you want, I can create a private board for those interested. Or, you can take it to a group PM, and say what you want privately.

But please stop creating and participating in the death spiral of the recruiting mega threads.

Feel free to PM me if you have any suggestions.
Is this coming up because people who aren't required to read the board are complaining about continually reading things that don't pertain to a topic, even after they have previously identified that people within the are posting about things that are not necessarily on point with the Header and rather than self discipline and read the thread after a subject heading change.

Just a thought, but what about separate threads for actual updates on a situation and discussion of the topic? Like if all you want is "AW3 visits syracuse, AW3 discusses cuse visit, AW3 to visit MSU" etc you could just follow that just the facts style thread. If ya want to discuss the topic there's a different one.

Stop making sense

One of the things I liked about the recruiting board is not havering to shift through multiple threads. Everyone gets one thread.

I think the threads should be locked and restarted when they become too unwieldy.

It would also eliminate the "ZOMG break teh thread record" nonsense.

That would probably only work with having a drop down menu of different folders in the main AW3 thread

In the future I hope to have an, "ignore prefix" option for anyone who who wants to ignore the off topic stuff, or maybe the users can just select the prefixes they want to follow. But that's not available yet. It's in the works though.

Tom, we've long known you hate us, SU fans, but this is coooold. Graphs and all.

Now, if someone reputable or otherwise wants to share some insider information, where and how do they do it? And who is allowed to discuss it and how long before they must self-moderatingly embed a link: To be continued in "Atavism in Action"?

I created a private board for the nonsense, but I'm tired of seeing more and more new visitors leave after reading one page of a post. The avg time spent here for new visitors used to be 14 minutes. Now it's a fraction of that time.

I don't understand. Is this a message board for everyone to contribute or private blog. Just disable all the logs in. Your attempts to control human nature's desire to have banter and fun are FAILING. I can understand keeping out pornographic images. But if you want to control every piece of off topic content then I suggest you create a read only blog. I think you are trying to use the fun of having a message board to sell quality content. I'm not exactly sure you will ever succeed in controlling human nature. People come here to have fun as much as they do seeing quality content.

If you goal is to get more first time posters then take out a Super Bowl ad.

There are plenty of forums out there if you aren't happy with this one. Or, you can go have fun on the new playground temery created. We've had far too many complaints about the 'fun', particularly in recruiting threads. And as temery posted above, thread readership drops off as the threads devolve. Recruiting threads are for recruiting discussion, not hundreds of posts that have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Sorry, I didn't see this until now. Yours is a frequently shared opinion, especially here.

The truth is I hate pretty much everyone on this planet. Thinking you are special in that regard is where you went wrong.
