Great video. Hadn’t watched his highlights in awhile and was such a fun player to watch. Fitting the final clip is a dish from Red for a dunk
RIP - this is a sad day
A class act! It had to be about 1991. I don’t think Lawrence was anywhere close to the best recruiting in that class, I think Anthony Harris was the best recruit in that class if I remember? Somebody got hurt, Lawrence Moten went in the game against Florida State I believe and he scored 18 and we won the game in the ACC/Big East challenge. He never gave back The starting position to anybody in four years. He was amazing.Just met him for the first time last month. When he heard I was a Cuse fan he came over, chatted me up and offered to take a picture. Very cool and engaging dude. Legend.

yes, my mind went to my aunt who I knew and my grandfather who I didn't.Sheer speculation, but my dad died of a heart attack at age 51. Lawrence was very happy with his move to D.C. Doubt very strongly it was drugs. I am betting it was his heart. He was “found.” Died alone. My own heart is broken. Heart attacks are a quick “easy” way to die for the sufferer, and a fairly ghastly shock to the loved ones. So very sorry for his family.
I loved him so much, but I must say, his calling the time out we didn’t have during the tournament was something that haunted me for a while. Arkansas went on to win the National Championship. I can’t imagine how he must have felt. God bless him. I even wrote a song about our loss, to the tune of “What becomes of the broken hearted?” (Who has a team that’s now departed.)
He leaves behind a mourning community. I hope he knew how much people loved him when he was alive. I think he did.
He was a winner who did more for others in his life than life did for himI'm only four years younger. While he was going through SU I was HS. Damn.
great stuff but wasn't it Autry that called the TO we didn't have against arkansas!

Autry wasn’t on the team. Michael Lloyd was the starting PG.great stuff but wasn't it Autry that called the TO we didn't have against arkansas!
I think Scottie Thurman actually missed a technical free throw from the time out which would have put the game away for Arkansas. The game actually went to overtime If I remember correctly. It was Moten.
he made 1/2 ft's to put it in OT. Lucious JAackson was the emotional 1. i still have never known who called it or didnt. but the whole 2 min is saying it was Lucious JacksonI think Scottie Thurman actually missed a technical free throw from the time out which would have put the game away for Arkansas. I always tell people that Moten’s TO might be the thing people remember about that game, but the most amazing forgotten play was what happened right before the infamous time out. Luke Jackson had probably the most memorable steal in SU history, diving and intercepting the inbounds pass by Scotty Thurman. He hugged that ball and went into the fetal position waiting for a whistle. Unfortunately, the one he heard wasn’t for a foul. Arkansas was so stunned by the steal I think they would have just watched the clock run out.Arkansas had won the NC in '94. They were trying to repeat and we had them on the ropes. UCLA ended up winning in '95.
