After weekend filled with shakeups, there’s a new No. 1 to start Week 2.

Notre Dame took down Northwestern Friday night, 14-10, as Jackie Wolak paced the Irish offense with six points.

The Wildcats’ loss moved Boston College into the No.1 spot, earning 23 first-place votes, while the Fighting Irish jumped six spots into the second slot with one first-place vote. Northwestern checked in at No. 4 with one first-place vote.

Maryland and Michigan were two of the other Top 10 winners, topping Syracuse and Denver, respectively and shifting into the No. 5 and No. 6 positions.

They have to play the toughest schedule in the country?
Correct, Syracuse doesn’t have to play the toughest schedule in the country but as a fan, I damn glad they do. It’s crazy to see some of these other acc teams ooc schedules. Like one good game.

it's absolutely brutal. Kayla must have been confident in what she had when making it. As long as they peak in May... Hopefully are healthy too.

6. Syracuse
The Orange saw its second win of the year slip away against Maryland, with a few key moments that made the difference. The green card mentioned above, failure to convert on a late yellow card, and a costly shot clock violation. That said, they’ve proven they are right there with the top in the country, but executing in key moments will make all the difference.
