All going to the U for the NIL.
Can not blame any of the ladies for getting all they can. Earning potential professionally is not nearly the same as in the NBA. I don't follow it closely but I do not think any player in the WNBA earns a million dollars a season I could be incorrect

Breanna Stewart just signed with the NY Liberty for $175k a year and she's in the top 5 players in the league

"Breanna Stewart Contract Details

The $175K that New York is giving Stewie makes her only the fourth-highest-paid player on the team. Per Spotrac, Jones leads the way at $211,150, followed by Betnijah Laney ($201,984) and Vandersloot ($189,000)."

"Highest-paid WNBA Players of 2022 by Total Salary

Dollar figures via Spotrac based on a 2022 salary cap of $1,379,170.

t-1. Mercury G Diana Taurasi: $228,094 (WNBA max salary)

So like what LeBron gets for waking up and brushing his teeth. Crazy, those women are the best in the world in their game
Which is why they play in the foreign leagues during the off season and get paid more than the WNBA. Stewart popped her achilles playing in Europe and we all know what happened to Brittany Griner.

Expect portal to be busy this week and lot of calls made and player visits starting. Nice 3pt shooter here with bonus blocking shots.

Until the revenue is created this will be the story.

Just saw a brief article/YouTube on this. It was a podcast or other such thing. One of the WNBA starts (Lisa Leslie?) was suggesting that NBA players should help fund/supplement the WNBA payroll. She said the NBA players should spend less time at casinos and instead give their money to WNBA players.
Dramond Green was the other guest. He was having none of it.
To date, the WNBA has never broken even, and runs at about a $10,000,000.00 deficit, annually. That is covered by the NBA.

But (relatively) few people want to watch them. That could start to change, a bit, with Caitlin Clark becoming a star.

There are some very good players who will probably be looking to leave UMass

I thought the BC center might end up here if Kitley entered the draft. Would love Gakdeng at SU, might end up at ND, they need center too

I mean the arenas aren't empty they probably get a way higher ticket gate than in Europe and ESPN/ABC show plenty of games. The money just doesn't go to the players theres NBA level overhead and tons of executives these teams employ lots of people etc.
