I don't know what to expect from James. He's plenty fast but doesn't seem to have natural running back skills or route running skills to me. Seems like he relies too much on his speed. His football agility, shiftiness and natural football instincts seem lacking a bit. But he has speed in spades and is built well so that sure is a nice combo.

I think you should Google him and take a look at his Hudl film. I believe that may change your mind about his RB skills and Rec skills.

I watched his film. He's fast and has decent size. Hes' not skinny. I thought film showed mostly runs to the outside or where he's breaking runs by switching fields. Just didn't see many traditional RB plays where he gets a handoff in the backfield, needs to find the hole, explode through it, make anybody miss or run through them. Seemed to be mainly just runs around people. Receiving wise they were mostly receptions in the backfield but did have some/medium ones down field. But again it seemed to be him just being faster then people more than good routes.

From what i saw he didn't seem like somebody who would be ready right away. Maybe with some time practicing against other faster athletes he improves in those areas. But hey, i hope I'm wrong and he kills it this year.

Going to be interesting to see whether Peal ends up emerging as a starter at CB. If he does / if he's good enough to seize one of the spots, I think the secondary could be EXTREMELY underrated, and a defensive strength [right now, we are unproven at CB, outside of Kerr and some guys in reserve like Delanie].

Montanez runs an awful lot like Lequint Allen... where ever he lands should be thankful to have him. Not bad considering he wasn't even the starting RB for his HS team

This is somewhat inaccurate right? They signed Gary Bryant III who chose Syracuse over USC. They also have Heard, McDonald, and Caden Brown competing as returning experienced players now.

Doesn’t even make any sense. They brought a starting linebacker in with Gary Bryant. They also have at least another 10 options at linebacker already on the team. If the linebackers aren’t good then it’s because they aren’t developing or aren’t up to p4 standard. Cant just toss 5 scholarships in the portal at one specific position when we have other needs to fill.

Castellanos at FSU, I may be wrong and maybe he ends up really good. But, he was a mess last year. FSU doesn't seem to know how to evaluate QB talent and it is killing them.
