Postgame Thoughts---Georgetown

Easily the best game of the year to watch, to this point.

Edwards and Mintz were awesome.

After a horrible start, JBA helped get us going, as did Torrence.

Girard got red hot at the end of the first half.

Benny had a very good second half - never seen him cut and dunk like that. Hopefully now that he’s got the feel of that, he keeps doing it.

Hima gave key minutes in the first half when Jesse had two fouls.

Benny needed to feel what it's like to light up the dome with an awesome dunk.

Many many positives from today. Forget the opponent but we saw chemistry building between Judah and Jesse and Judah was pass first most of the game. Bell hustled more. JBA continued to show his value and that having a 6-11 facilitator who is big and physical and who also defends is extremely valuable.

Joe adjusted and then played well. Jesse is finally in great physical shape and was dominant over what should have been at least a comparable talent in Wahab but it wasn't close. Hima was a monster on D. Keep building and let's get more from Taylor too.

Also Benny did the simple things that we need. Roll to the rim be catch ready and present himself. As already said if he can get consistent in the 15 footer it's all there for him.

2 players with double doubles

Out rebounded the hated hoyas

10 steals

we played in the paint and won in the paint

an all around fun game and it looked like the players loved it

JBA was the homeless man’s Draymond again.

Shoeless Jon Bol!

Nice to see Bell do more than chuck 3’s.

Hima a really nice 2nd C, we don’t have any drop off on D or rebounding while he’s in for Jesse.

Edited to add - 20/21 FT’s!!!!

just like all those classic Cuse teams of old. ;)

Yup. Been waiting to see that. He really teed that one up off Mintz’ pass. He missed but I loved that he tried to dunk again the next time down the court. He needs to quit pulling up for 5 foot jumpers so often and attack the basket hard.

Have to think we are favored in the next 5. All winnable games with a few that could be close (Cornell/Pitt). If we can win the next five to get to an 8 game win streak it would be huge. Player confidence would be high going into UVA who we typically struggle with.

Excellent summary. That was as much fun watching SU as I've had in some time. :)

That was really really really good. My friend from UConn says they don't miss Doubledick, not impressed.
