Why cap such items?
This year, three of SU’s four transfers have two or more years of eligibility left. Kyle is the only one who will be in his final year of college ball next season.
Kingz and George have two years left, while Souare has three.
It depends on coaching. The loyalty thing cuts both ways. Players leave teams where they don't see a role for themselves or they are not in the team's plans. The top 30 teams aren't necessarily losing their starters or guys penciled in for bigger minutes. They're losing projects and bench pieces and replacing them with potentially better players. Getting guys with 2 or more years of eligibility and molding them into a team has been the most effective approach it seems.Keeping them will depend on how well the team does and $$$ as there is understandably no loyalty to a team anymore

already forget? more likely never knewUmm they already forget Fennell?
Going to be up to Red to put the pieces together. George isn't a great defender, but he would have very clearly been our best backcourt defender this year. This was a good listen. Brent had beat writers on who covered George, Souare, Kingz and Kyle this past season.
Quick takes:
George is a great passer, good scorer, mediocre at best defender.
Kingz is a tremendous shooter, average defender, could be a 15-18 ppg guy.
Kyle is a 20-ish minute/game guy, great defender and rim protector. Lob and dunk offense.
Souare is a strong role player with defense and boards.
To be honest, it left me a little less enthused about this crew than I was before I listened. Concerned about the defense of George. Wondering who's going to play the 5 for the 15-20 minutes a game Kyle isn't in.
I think it is fair to expect Womack to not be a factor this season. His physique, the relative low level of competition he faced in HS and the sheer number of wings we have on the roster make him a likely candidate for a red shirt. If we are going to point to the other schools recruiting George as a positive, we can’t ignore the other schools that were on Womacks list.
Am I writing him off down the line? Nope.
Next year? Probably
The comments on Kingz were pretty crazy to me. He shot over 50% from 3 for most of the season then "cooled off" to 44% later in the season haha. Exactly what we need. This was a good listen. Brent had beat writers on who covered George, Souare, Kingz and Kyle this past season.

For sure. In terms of D, it looks like we're going to be lacking at the 1, 2 and 3. Hopefully the bigs can make up for that.Going to be up to Red to put the pieces together. George isn't a great defender, but he would have very clearly been our best backcourt defender this year.
I think it's impossible to imagine what it could even look like and rightfully so because we haven't really seen what one should look like in the Autry era.For sure. In terms of D, it looks like we're going to be lacking at the 1, 2 and 3. Hopefully the bigs can make up for that.
Overall, at the moment I think we're a bit short. I like the guys we've brought in. They're clearly an upgrade. However, we're really relying on Kiyan, Fennel and White to be meaningful contributors as frosh. Maybe they will be, but it's a risk to rely on it. And we may be a player short at the 5. I can only assume that Kyle and Sourame are going to split those minutes. Potential, but very little certainty.
Right now I'd say we're many wins better than last season, but not quite a tourney team. But there's tons of time for that to change.
Currently ranked 25th by Evan Miya. Michigan is #1 without Aday Mara who committed today.

Guaranteed we’ll be 14th in the ACC preseason rankings ha247 has our portal class at 21. Our HS class at 9. And a combined rank of 12.
Concur. I remember, last season Syracuse was ranked in the top 30 transfer classes with Bell and JJ returning and Donnie Freeman coming in. I think there's definitely a bit more talent coming in, especially with the frosh, but our top transfer get is ranked 51st in some places. Most of our class ranking is based on total players coming aboard. We're bringing in 8 (possibly 9) new players (including frosh).... Potential, but very little certainty.
