We have so many glaring needs and tremendous opportunity. I am at a loss beyond the obvious ( Money), as to why we have not been able to fill our needs with portal transfers. The Syracuse Brand in women's basketball was ascending ...we were in the national Championship game , what, 10 years ago, and in Q's last year, we had the #5 and #9 rated recruits in the ESPN Top 100. then, the bottom fell out ! Having said all of that, I have my own opinions, but i would like to hear from those out there who follow this thread: WHAT ARE THE SELLING POINTS FOR RECRUITS TO COME PLAY AT SYRACUSE?

How many of those 168 would have seemed like natural recruiting targets for SU and would have likely earned immediate playing time?

Just a freshman, Clara Silva, a 6’7” shot blocker from Portugal with good FG and FT %.Her 40 minute stats are very good. Transferring from Kentucky. Played every game but only limited minutes - 3 more years of eligibility left. Her 6’5” Kentucky teammate at Kentucky, Clara Strack who transferred to Ky from Va Tech is from Buffalo and their starting center. Imagine Silva is transferring to get more playing time with Strack just being a sophomore.

I am starting to believe ...something is seriously wrong with our program! I don't know if we recruited her or not...but, we don't seem to be able to select key players for key positions of need. We need better players...period!

I don't know who she is, but she isn't a post player and we need at least two of those, preferable 6-4 or taller.

Yeah. I thought SU women’s basketball would ascend under FLJ. She’s a dynamic personality and was building a very good track record her first two years. It has to be lack of NIL. Another wild theory? After FLJ’s health issue the other year, is there a chance that team’s are negative recruiting against her? That’s what happened to Thad Matta at Ohio State.

NIL is definitely a big problem on the women's side . Fair sort of let it be known her Senior year here was because Adam fulfilled his commitment to her, even though he was booted by the higher ups.
And DC, Wallace and some other Alums had a get together last year to try to raise NIL for the women's team.

Coop Swoop: Mallory Miller, a 6-4 stretch 4 from Arizona State, that we recruited out of High School, Just committed to TCU!!!!! TCU is loading up on talent. They are getting all the pieces they need to build a National Title contender. They got a 6-7 post our of the portal. Olivia Miles from Notre Dame just committed, they got a 6-8 HS player , who recruited and had on campus commit. We can't sign one player of need to fill a gaping hole as large as the Grand Canyon. Money is tipping the scales in recruiting to the schools with the big donors. Syracuse is on the outside of the store window, looking in at all the people with money making purchases. The portal potentially allows a team to retool it's roster every year. That is what the top teams are doing and this is why they will continue to be top teams...We are in a very sad state right now.....very depressing...

Not sure what will be done outside of allocating more NIL to WBB but that comes at the expense of FB and men’s hoops. I just don’t see that happening in today’s landscape and the need for those two programs in particular to be good to great. I think it will be a lean few years for WBB as we focus on FB on MBB for the next round of realignment. I don’t know how good the NIL fundraising is for women’s hoops.

This is the young lady, I saw. She's listed at 6,4 but when she walked past me she looked more like 6'2. Avg 5mins a game and 1.5pts 1.6 rebounds a game at Miami.

Burrows is the only returning player who avg double digits. The rest avg under 5ppg. And we only have 2 players taller than 6'2... yikes.
