What is the feeling for Saturday? I keep hoping that we pull off the miracle but my head says that we get destroyed.

I don't even want to watch it... watching them the past few weeks drives me to drinking heavily... and a noon start doesn't condone that sort of behavior. I think it will be as ugly as Cinci, if not worse...

I hope not but something tells me Pitt will be pumped to play and Dougs team will come out flat as always

We are simply outmatched against Pitt as has been witnessed every year since 2004. Wanny's recruits are very talented. Much like Rutgers though I have little faith in their current coaching staff. If DM and co can muster up one of their lightning in a bottle games than we could do it. But my head says Pitt by 2 TDs or more.

I see a continuation of last Saturday - right now the feeling I have heading into this game is eerily similar to the way I felt going into a game during the last two GRob years - and it sucks

You don't drink heavily starting on saturday at noon? And you go to SU? Talk about the 1%...

Ha, went to SU... im supposed to act like an adult sometime now... and nothing is within walking distance where I am, or else it would be game on!

Hard to tell with this match up.
Panthers have turned into the Keystone Kops a few times this season.
Bad case of Brain Farts, things like intentionally running out of bounds when you should be running out the clock and too many players on field during a kickoff.

As badly as Tino Sunseri has played this year, my head says we make him look like a clone of Peyton Manning, Montana & Unitas. Our team has been building up momentum in the 2nd half of the season, unfortunately it has been all downhill and I do not see them capturing lighting in a bottle this game. HCDM has some heavy lifting to do in the off-season.

I have you by 25 years...and I'm still trying to figure how to act like an adult.

Not sure what to make of the game. My guess would be we try out some different offensive gameplan since we are basically running AB alone in the backfield. Might tell us a lot about whether Marrone will ever change things up if we stick with the NFL grind it out approach.

I'd probably say Pitt takes it 38 - 10.

**** it. 38-27 SU!

We'll run the often discussed "kitchen sink" offense. Flea flickers, end arounds, wild cat, option passes, the works. Reverses on kick returns as well.

Go big or go home.

looking back at the cincy game it was all about big plays. half the offense on 4 plays for cinci. maybe they dont make the same mistakes on D and we finish the drives we stalled out on.. it might have been the best game of the year for the offense 20-20 other than the WV game.. we just didnt stick it in once we got inside the 30.. gotta have hope.

Lets see... noon conference game... we are great at noon games!;) On the road so we have that going for us.... I vote tie no one wins... no one gets a bowl. :noidea:

CUSE 21- Pitt 17 (Here's hoping for a miracle.)

Close in first half... then Pitt runs over us (typically) in second half. 35-14. Doug almost crys post game. On positive note Provo may get drafted

I think the defense will be the bigger problem for Syracuse, Pitt will destroy us with their passing game all day, and Sunseri will look like Tebow running the ball. We will have about 4 22 yard punts no return game and be unable to really move the ball other than a few Bailey runs and some bootlegs. I expect it to look much like the Pitt/ Uconn game did this year. 38-13. Doug has lost this team, the kids have cashed it in, don't get me wrong they put their best effort in on Saturday but its the other 6 days I worry about. Doug ran out of gas sometime around UCONN.
This team has played one good game all year and I don't expect that to change, Hackett and Doug have no answers on offense. Marrone needs to pace himself or he will be like Urban Meyer in a couple years.

Love to see a post around 4 pm on Saturday with somebody telling me I am ..o.s but we will see.

From what I have seen from Pitt this year, I think they will use Sunseri's ability to run extensively, try to keep the ball on the ground and beat us with the QB option plays/handoffs to the RB that have been so successful against us in recent weeks.

Why take chances with Sunseri's erratic arm when they probably don't have to?

In order to win, we need to

a) stop the run at all costs
and
b) find a way to get pressure on Sunseri when Pitt passes the ball. He is not a bad passer when given unlimited time in the pocket.

Even if we can do this, we have to find a way to score points and move the ball on offense too. It is going to take a great effort to get this game, especially given our incredibly poor special teams play this season.

Yes Sunseri was able to run the ball on UCONN early which then open up the pass game, agree stop the run at all costs, which makes me nervous because they have not been able to do that versus UCONN or Cinci. Where has Shamarko and the LB's been here? They have been really non effective, our linebackers have been getting pushed around all year

I predict my left arm will be trying to prevent my right arm from throwing my beer bottle through my TV set around the 12:40 pm mark on Sat.

What if you have drinks in both hands?
