Interviews: Dino and Offense

Dino interview day is my favorite day.

I remember legit being on the fence about it. Hindsight it’s obvious that ED was and always was the right call. But, Tommy flashed promise that year. In reality it was the fact that no one had tape on him to know his flaws. Once DCs could gameplan for him it was obvious how they handled him. Pressure him to hell and make him improvise…. It won’t go well.

So I think the thing that gets lost when we talk about the Legend of Dungey and DeVito is that leading up to NC State Dungey put his starting spot into question. He got reckless a few too many times and made some bad decisions, and Babers was weighing that too, especially considering when DeVito came in after that almost-fumble-that-shouldn't-have-ever-been from Dungey he played well enough to get us a W.

Dungey had the best response a guy ever could with that NC State game, and that cemented it, but it was a bit shaky potatoes before that point. People forget that.

Yeah think Dungey felt he was untouchable for a bit there and lost focus.

When TD came in and gave that performance, it brought ED right back.

Random Thought -

Jacobian Morgan deserves some NIL fan love.

He quietly stepped into an impossible position his freshman year and performed about as well as could be expected. He’s hung in there tough and competed.

We focus too much energy and attention on the guys who leave, and not the ones in the background grinding every day and giving Syracuse their all.

It could also be a case of, "These coaches showed at UVa that they creatively use QBs in tandem in trick capacities out of unusual formations, and this is the way they are getting a second QB on the field."

IMO Confirms CDRW won the job and they are ok with Morgan being three. Cross train, get him on the field, big athlete

Do I see a potential repeat of one of my favorite SU memories/trick plays?...high school QB turned great WR Kevin Johnson throwing a bomb to someone (Turner maybe) on an end around vs. WVU in the late '90's.
