Preseason ranking next year?

Am I correct in thinking we'll be in the 10-15 range preseason next year without Noel, and probably between 5-10 with him?

I've though about it. MCW being such an unknown may make our preseason number lower than it should be if Dion goes. So my guess is:

With Dion, No Noel, No Fab = Top 5
With Dion, With Noel, No Fab = Top 2
With Dion, With Noel, With Fab = 1
No Dion, With Noel, No Fab = Top 10
No Dion, No Noel, With Fab = Top 10
No Dion, No Noel, No Fab = 12 - 17 range

You think the pollsters will give that much credit to MCW? I mean, I think they should, but I doubt they would given how little he's played.

With Noel, probably 5-10'ish.

We could start McD's: MCW, Rak, Coleman, and throw Noel in that mix and you've got enough "wow" factor to get up there. Triche/Fair/Southerland are all nice complimentary pieces to the media types that vote on such things.

My predictions were made under the assumption that Fab and Dion are both gone.

Dion is not coming back so lets move on from that debate.

I see us in the Top 10 without Noel and Top 5 with him.

A super-early look at other teams next year that should be tough: Kansas, NC St, and Sparty. You never know because kids leave early even if there not ready. Carolina loses Zeller, and probably Henson, Barnes, and Marshall to the NBA. ACC is soft next year on paper...

No reason to go further than this year and this team will take it ALL.

If we get Noel we're in contention for a preseason #1, with or without Dion. Returning everyone but two players who have 5 star replacements. Coleman was once the best forward in the 2012 class and now Noel IS the best forward in the 2012 class. Not many teams are returning as much firepower while adding 2 players like Coleman and Noel.

scoop, kris jo, fab and dion is alot to lose. without noel i see us top 15. with him top 10. i dont see top 5 without either fab or dion coming back. we certainly have top 5 talent with noel, i just think the pollsters will focus more on what we're losing.

If I have to - when you lose 3 staters & your 6th, we prob more like top 15-25. All this preseason junk is just - look at what it did for UConn - all that talent but unproven - need I say more? We are just not proven so just win baby is all that counts!

Don't forget, we're now a name program that has spent the last 4 years in the top 10. We're far more likely to be over rated than under rated.

If Dion comes back, regradless of Noel, #1,2, or 3 would not surprise me at all.

The team will be top 10 on hype and rep alone. In what I consider worst case scenario at the moment (no Fab, Dion or Noel--obviously other unforeseen issues could always be worse), they still have a possible starting lineup of DC, Rak, Fair, Triche and MCW with JS, Keita, Cooney and Grant off the bench. LOADED. Easily top 10 and very possible top 5.
