i believe wilbon's quote was "slurpin syracuse" it may all be about money. but its more about not losing revenue than gaining it in my opinion.

It's like saying you built a house back in the late 1970's. Sat there with the architect, helped layout the bedrooms and the kitchen.

Now here you are 30 years later with multiple additions, tear-downs, renovations...you basically have a house that doesn't look very pretty from the outside or the inside.

You also had a recent inspection and were told by an engineer the foundation is about to crumble.

Are you suppose to stay in that house FOREVER just because you helped built it back in the 1970's??!!??!!??!!??

We had a chance to move into a much nicer house, in a nicer neighborhood, with homogeneous neighbors and we took it.

The disdain for Syracuse and Pitt is mind boggling. Nobody said one word about Texas A&M bailing and certainly nobody is going to be screaming at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State for putting the final dagger in the Big 12. Colorado, Nebraska? Neither one of those teams had to leave either. Utter nonsense.

ESPN and CBS dangle TONS of money in front of these conferences to encourage expansion, conference championship games, etc...

Bigger conferences means more inventory and more ad revenue for the networks.

Yet the networks have the balls to label universities as "greedy".

Don't hate the player ... hate the game. Especially since it's a game that the networks created.

I used to like Wilbon, this isn't the only thing that he's been a complete homer about. The last year or so he's really been way off base on a lot of topics. His sacred Big Ten isn't guilty of anything of course.
