Purdue Postgame Party...

Purdue can't score without the ball. A Hail Mary only gives them the ability to do so on a 100 yard pick six. Pretty rare. Any other option increases the chances that Purdue gains possession or scores defensively.

Might want to double check your risk/reward data sheet. Because I can't see the risk being worth it for 3 points in a game we're leading by 7 on the road with a kicker we haven't seen hit a FG longer than 36 yards.
Homer, chapter 7, page 768

Sorry I missed the conversation, but how did Purdue get the ball on that one fumble? Is the rule whoever is touching(not possessing) the ball and the out of bounds last has possession? When did this become a thing? Dumbest rule EVER lol

So I'll be the one to start this...any outside chance we get College Gameday if we win and Clemson beats FSU next week?

Only ranked matchups that week currently:

USC at Colorado (wouldn't go back 2 weeks later...right?)
Notre Dame at Duke (Notre Dame hosting Gameday already next week)
LSU at Ole Miss (Ole Miss plays Bama this week, could be 2-2)

Thoughts?

Stop what? Being concerned that GS won’t run for 4 TDs every week and win us games. Maybe if we ignore the problem it’ll go away.

I don’t think we get Gameday on the Clemson game IMO. Colorado will get it with Prime. Duke might be ahead of us too. I would rather have the team focused on the game than having the circus come to town. Gameday would be fun and good exposure but it can be a distraction too.

I get the worry, but Shrader didn't take any big hits I can remember. Truth be told, if it was the hits last year, it seemed like the Clemson game was the turning point. He took hits all year, but Clemons athletes really put a hurt on him. Not to mention, Shrader took more hits in 2021.
He took one on a no gainer/short gainer up the middle. But more than that is the accumulation of hits and the wearing down that takes place by running as much as he did. If he has to do that every game, he will wear down and become less effective.

I really don't care at this point if we get it, but do you think Colorado will get it again only a few weeks after they just got it?

Colorado also has to play at Oregon...could very well be coming off of a loss

Duke is a good story too. Honestly, I just want to beat Clemson and think Gameday could be a distraction. Fun, yes but given our WR play last night I think we need complete focus. Just my thoughts.

One of the most impressive things so far is the goal line offense. Beck has been very good with calls and schemes inside the ten. From using Perry as a blocker and offset line formations he is creative. Beck set up the Shrader bootleg fake last week. Last week all the handoffs went to the tailback. That was what Purdue was looking for. Play worked perfectly twice.
The line has done a solid job delivering a good push. Too many times SU has lost games because of missed touchdowns inside the ten. Outstanding work by Beck, Farmer and the team.

Please god no more national tv beatdowns. Yes I know the game last night was on national tv, but game day is a whole other level of attention. I’m still traumatized by Kirk laughing at us while announcing some of those “big” games in end of the coach P era. Just slide under the radar and take care of biz.

That was WAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY closer than it needed to be.

Even tho we could have scored more points if it wasnt for mistakes by team and refs... i never really thought it was close. We seemed to have a 2 possesion game on them the entire night. Whenever they would score we would march right back down the field and get the 2 possesion lead right back

And Shredder took a knee on a freebie

They are still overwhelmingly based in the triple and Rocky Long is known nationally for dominating that offense. If we don't win by 3+ scores something went very wrong.

UTSA is down this year and did not come to play last night. ULM dominated Army week one.
UTSA’s 7th year QB didn’t play in the game either.
