It's substantial, the late 70's and early 80's had double digit inflation.

Economists laugh at Americans complaining about a spike of 8-9%.

Anyway, it would be slightly over $65000 in'24 dollars.

Still pretty expensive.
When I started practicing law, in certain cases it would make sense to allow a lawsuit to take a default judgment, because interest accrued at 9%, whereas banks were paying 18-20%.

This kid reminds me of a QB a number of years ago from the western finger lakes area that sat on the bench until his last year, when he became the starter. I think he even played a little in the NFL after that.

Who is that?

The only starter from the Finger Lakes was Billy Scharr, who stopped playing before his senior season.

Todd Philcox took over from McPherson , he was from Connecticut

I'm terrible on remembering names these days, but I think it was Philcox, and I'm mixing both these guys up

Philcox was from Connecticut. Billy Scharr was from Canandaigua.

Billy Scharr is the one I was thinking of. Thank you. Canandaigua was the town. Did he ever make in in the NFL?

impressive. I didn’t think football players were allowed to be Newhouse students..

He must be a very very good student.
As a newhouse grad, it would be totally feasible to do both.
