Class of 2024 QB Andy Bass (OK) Verbal to Oklahoma

Right now our offer is his best offer. If his numbers are legit my guess is his recruiting will blow up. Full court press now!
Numbers are legit. Not sure the height is.

Hope we can reel him in. (sorry)
EDIT on ANDY BASS:

I was about to compare four QB offers/Visits coming up and was checking on Andy Bass. Three hours ago he was offered by both Harvard and Yale, his Twitter on 6/2/23 both around 6 P.M. A very smart recruit and QB.

Also both HUDL and NCSA Sports have him listed with a 4.37 40. I have him at 4.42 from his own Twitter and Sports Illustrated. So, both times are fast - one is elite.

DEPENDING ON POSITION THE FOLLOWING 40 TIMES ARE PERTINENT:

GOOD = 5.0 - 5.99

FAST = 4.9 - 4.99

FAST= 4.8 - 4.89

FAST= 4.7 - 4.79

FAST= 4.6 - 4.69

FAST= 4.5 - 4.59

VERY FAST= 4.4 - 4.49

ELITE = 4.2 - 4.39

>EDIT: NEW PR VJ ON 6/4/23 = 39"<

I agree that his collegiate path positionally may be tough to predict (positionless football??). Has some Cooper Lutz in him, and with OCJB’s Virginia track record, there is likely a lot of options for an athlete like this. Noticed in the thread that he had the top Sparq rating at his regional, that’s incredible.

Also noticed in his Hudl film that Oklahoma looks freaking cold! Cross that off my retirement list;-)

Is it hard to get a 40-inch vertical?
99% of players will never have a 40-inch vertical, no matter how hard they train.

Andy is getting closer.

Never saw anything but a Vertec machine measure the VJ, that is the long pole with horizontal slats you hit to give you your height.

Michael Jordan's was 48" but he is Michael Jordan.

I'm guessing that isn't his 39" vertical jump in the video.
Fog, I don't know. I think it is his 39" but there is no JustJump mat I can see for Andy to land on. The coach is holding a read out device in his hand that I have been trying to find but have been unable to so far.

The only device I have seen that almost everyone uses is the Vertec like the NFL uses for all participants at the combine.

If you or anyone can find it please let me know.

I'm just judging by the height of his feet at the max of his jump relative to his body at the start. If he is 8' tall, then that may be 39". I'm not saying he didn't hit 39", but it sure doesn't look it in that jump, to my untrained eye.

Maybe Legacy knows - she was the originator of the post.

Clearly, the coach has a piece of paper in his left hand and some kind of device in his right while Andy jumps. What it is is a mystery to me.

To look at the height of his jump for me it would be very difficult to say how high or estimate how far he is off the ground.

I think we’ve only offered Bass and White from your list.

You'll have to ask the coach at Oklahoma State where Andy was camping.;)

Yeah that seems like a weird way to get a VJ. But really we'd probably only care about that if he was a WR/TE or a DB and possibly LB or DE. Not much of a concern for a QB.
