QB McKenzie Milton

Until we prove we can create a quality offensive line, we're not going to be an attractive destination for quarterbacks, especially those come back from knee surgery. Frankly, both a successful comeback and a successful comeback here seems like a pipe dream in this this case.

We have tape from less than two years ago of a successful 10-3 team.

A transfer at QB could be a lightning rod to an offense along with a healthy/bolstered OL.

I would love Tommy to be what we recruited him for. But right now, the top 7 QB we recruited is redeemed for being “slightly above average” in year four.

For all parties, including Dino’s original ego, I’d vote for a move on...

He'll break his other leg behind our line if he comes here.

No thanks if TD is coming back. Every personnel effort on the offensive side of the bal should be made to fix the OL and WR corps so we have the opportunity to have a functional offense next season.

Sticking to one QB is why we are in the mess we are in now. Lets face it Devito has been a huge let down... regardless talent around him. Heck even plays were he had all day to throw with recievers running open he makes a dumb decisioms and usually just chucks one up or starts to scramble with no pressure

are you kidding with that nonsense?

pretty sure everyone here understands why they aren’t

Normally I disregard 99% of these transfer suggestions but this one is intriguing because (assuming he is medically cleared) I think both sides could benefit from this. He’s obviously been successful and would come here with a chip on his shoulder to overcome an injury that derailed his career. It would be transferring into an offense that is tailored for his skill set. 2021 is obviously vital both for this kids last chance at the college level as well as this staff needing a significant rebound in order to keep employment beyond 2021. IMO, no stone would be left unturn in trying to create success next year.

I also think many of the top schools wouldn’t even consider this kid due to his injury. That obviously helps us.

And when in recent memory did we start and end the season with the same QB

I think this would come down to how strong the marriage is between Dino and Tommy Devito.

Sterlin was the OC at USF in 2017 and 2018 so he has coached against him and in fact, he was there in the game UCF played against USF when Milton suffered that horrific injury. He knows first hand what Mackenzie is capable of.

We have the Hawaii connection with Dino. We have the Hawaii connection with coach Cav and we have a bunch of players coming in from Hawaii.

One possible problem is that I think SU has been very conservative about clearing players to play, compared to some other schools. Probably would be easier to get a signoff from the doctors here given his injuries are not concussion related.

I forgot all about this kid. Man, if he is healthy this would be a no brainer. He was so much fun to watch.

Man when this kid was healthy he was a top 5 player in the country. If he can be a shell of that would it be worth bringing him in? He has one year to play. His injury was really bad. Not sure if he could be anything like he was. Intriguing though.

2012 and 2018. Eric did make every start, ND was really the only game he went out with an injury. I think Ryan missed less than five plays being dinged up in 2012

I would guess Milton will be taking a hard look at Nebraska...

But if we were to go down this road...I'd stick by that he is a take if TD stays or if we bring in another transfer QB. Reasoning being if we take Milton and he isn't effective, we are in the same boat we are in now. Would love to have Milton competing with TD. Would make both of them better.

It is amazing he is even WALKING again after that injury let alone playing football. High risk, high reward type. Just need to make sure we have something in the stable should it not work.

Are coaches allowed to run him through some drills in a situation like this or does the young man put together a video running the 40, cone drill and throwing the ball post injury?

Can't put him through drills. The most important part of the puzzle will be our docs/trainers speaking with UCF's docs/trainers to get the full rundown of how the rehab has gone.

He's been running the scout team all year but as sent before he would have to put together tape of his own drills.
