I won’t. As i’ve already addressed, my problem has zero to do with bringing Angeli in and 100 to do with how FB went about it.
That's fine I don't see anything wrong and most people on the board don't, so let's end that conversation now.
Let's take the conversation where it belongs and that's whether he comes and will help SU win games.
I believe his addition makes our team better and that's what really counts.

If you wanted to end the conversation and move it towards that, why mention those of us that are here that have a different opinion saying we’ll be complaining. No issue moving on, no issues with others having different opinions but if you mention others with different opinions surely that will trigger a response from that party, no?

He was signing autographs in the quad before the spring game. If it was that bad he would've been in some type of cast/support.

It's not like his thumb was amputated.
I was too busy with all of my cool friends at our tailgate to witness this alleged occurrence!

The team that played the spring game wasn’t talented enough to succeed next season. Loosing Peña and Watson only amplified that. Fran knows this. We have some talented young players but it is dangerous to rely on young players. QB, WR, Tackle and linebacker seem to be the main focus. I wouldn’t mind a corner but that is Fran’s specialty so he must love Samuel and the Kerr’s.
Fran is relentless let’s see how this plays out. He knows the talent has to be improved.
Personally, I thought the spring game personnel was bad. Nothing stood out to me. The walk on running back was the most impressive and he’s gone.

"I don't see anything wrong with how it's handled, conversation over" lol

Have you ever been in a locker room? How this was handled would definitely rub me the wrong way as an athlete.

Why name a QB1 for the offseason, a QB1 for the spring?
Naming him QB1 in the spring meant he beat out the other QBs on the roster at that time, and there wouldn't be time wasted evenly rotating snaps. It was a decisive and calculated move by Fran to communicate his confidence in Collins to the team, to Collins himself, and to accelerate his development.

This is who Fran is - decisive, aggressive, nothing given until it is earned, no game playing with the media.

I think most know that this was a bridge year as currently constructed. I don’t think talent is an issue, it’s experience in key spots. Take the lumps and prep for next year.

Well, I asked if Fran said anything beyond " so it seems like he’s going to be our quarterback" and I haven't gotten anything countering it - even from one here who is passionately against what Fran did. So, I guess that's it. Wow. Talk about a nothing burger. Whatever, I'm moving my focus on Angeli wearing orange (hopefully).

I think it was more inferred. He got named QB1, so some posters took it to mean additional things beyond that.

I responded to a post earlier where someone expressed the opinion that Fran named him the 2025 QB starter. So lots of inference about stuff that wasn't strictly implied, IMO.

Literally. I have a headache atp lmao.

That's what I thought but figured I'd ask rather than assume. I read through the 15 pages of this thread before I read what Fran actually said about Rickie appearing to be our quarterback. Talk about some here creating their own narrative.

It's funny, my wife and I were in NYC last week for Passover. We had to attend a celebration of life memorial in New Jersey and my wife's uncle was driving us. We passed by Bergen Catholic on the way there and I go, "Oh Steve Angeli, Notre Dame's backup QB went there." No one in the car was impressed. Hahaha.
They probably said to you "Dayenu about college Football"

Collins has the lead for starting QB what place can he transfer right now too, that he will have that? If Angeli comes in he’s immediately QB2
Can anyone imagine the money that Kyle would be offered if he had been a sophomore last year and needed to come back? Would he have stayed? If Pena is getting 2, Kyle would have gotten 4 mil. I say that, because I think QBs are now a one year thing, (if they played.) Nothing is guaranteed after that, at least with this current setup of NIL. I think you have to take whoever will help you right now that is available, and try to develop the kids that don't play underneath.

Wow I thought it would be the opposite.

I heard it was bad enough that he had to replace the thumb with one of his big toes. Helps get some extra zip on the ball, but might impact escapability as he's a bit awkward on his feet.

They do it every day.

Why name a QB1 for the offseason, a QB1 for the spring? Can you give me any other example of a coach anywhere in America labeling a kid QB1 for the spring and the spring only? Coaches say all the time this player is ahead of this player, that is different than saying to the media “this is our guy”
