Trebor wasn’t getting $2mm or whatever anyway. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was getting similar to here and just opting for greener grass. But didn’t they just spend his money?

Too late. Fran ain’t taking him back.I still think Pena will come crawling back, especially now.
Man you are really a bundle of fun. There's a lot of driving and traffic between Ocean Township and Oradell.
Why would Pena leaving impact the locker room whatsoever?Hah. How many times did we hear that when Pena left. Winning is all that matters.
We can make jokes about it all day long, but the reality is there was a better way to handle this entire situation. And the only way I’ll think otherwise is if Collins thumb is worse than just a little dust up and keeping him out of the spring game was more than just a precaution. All I can think about is the lost locker room...
I doubt it for 2 reasons, this isn’t a Kyle McCord situation where we added a kid coming off throwing 24 TDs to 6 picks and leading a football powerhouse of a school to an 11-2 record. And it seems Fran was able to flip some of the NIL he had available for Pena in this Angeli signing, I don’t think Pena would put his tail between his legs back try to come back for less money.I still think Pena will come crawling back, especially now.
The NIL situation (as I understand it) is too opaque for me to know whether we have the funds or not. So I admittedly didn't factor that in too much. But I still think he stays.I doubt it for 2 reasons, this isn’t a Kyle McCord situation where we added a kid coming off throwing 24 TDs to 6 picks and leading a football powerhouse of a school to an 11-2 record. These highlights are tasty. Imagine watching this and still thinking he's not going to be QB1?
The Fran “misstep” that this board is obsessed with is a complete nothingburger that nobody will even remember in a few weeks. We can make jokes about it all day long, but the reality is there was a better way to handle this entire situation. I know right. The dude is LEGIT.Wow, more mobility and athleticism than I was expecting.
When we got them from Florida and South Carolina?Getting transfer QBs from Ohio State, LSU, and Notre Dame. Imagine thinking that even two years ago

Agreed for the most part but he did have one behind the shoulder pass on the sidelines that was very McCord esque. Very tight window.More impressed with his wheels than anything from those clips. Lots of open receivers. Let’s see what happens when those windows get smaller.
But that’s a higher floor than what we have now I would think.
McCord threw into some ridiculously tight windows last year. We’re not getting that kind of accuracy from the current room, and that’s okay.
Agree but we gotta strengthen the oline a bit more or it won't matter (except at Center which is still a big need)who is the QB. Adding backups won't help here on the line. The kid from Louisville is one. Fran needs to find another.More impressed with his wheels than anything from those clips. Lots of open receivers. This and starting true freshman Joe Fields on the road. Settling for what we hadIf there’s one thing that I like about this staff, is that they don’t seem like they want to go with a guy they’re not sure can get the job done.
Their standards are higher than our recent past.
In my entire 45 years of fandom, I’ve never felt worse than Troy Nunes first game. The drop off from McNabb to Nunes was shocking.
I was concerned we were going to have that same feeling in Atlanta. Not sure I’m as worried now. Whoever wins will be at least as good as Angeli last year, and that seems acceptable.
Fran has to tell recruits we are always upgrading right?I assume HCFB told him in advance they would bring in a QB
I'd be shocked if he didn't and I think we would see a mass exodus if he lied about it.Fran has to tell recruits we are always upgrading right?
I agree 100%. We really need a starting corner too. If u have Samuels, the older twin, and a new guy who can give us starter minutes like Lewis did last year, we will be set. Sprinkle in Delaine and other Twin and w e could be d ecent back there. I also would like another linebacker and did anyone see young Thomas play at all in spring game andhow fid he do?Pena is a loss but the addition of Angeli is a ten fold gain. We now have a QB room that can compete with any team on our schedule. Personally the LB addition is also a bigger gain for the team than Pena leaving because based on my observations we have some serious talent at WR. Easily the deepest room on the team. Its a shame Pena left but the DL kid is the biggest loss so far and we have just added two critical players to the roster. Great job by Fran and the staff.
Doesn’t all the big time programs? Georgia, Alabama, OSU, etc. are always trying to recruit over kids.Fran has to tell recruits we are always upgrading right?
