Can't have too many QB's or RB's.
Imagine being a NYG fan and placing your hopes on Dart.. man that guy plays reckless. When it comes to Cuse football I'm still a nervous nelly with injuries. I don't even care who starts.
What I can't stomach is watching our QB take a cheap shot on the road and be knocked out and we all say well there goes the season but hey at least the young guys will get experience for next year. Basically the better luck next season mentality.
I want to be excited if one goes down and the next man up comes in and says I got this and we give these top 10 teams a run.
It's very fair. I think it's okay to be excited that we have two solid options, but neither guy is a slam dunk, day one starter like McCord. One of the portal QB rankings I saw had Angeli at #21 and Collins at #27. Don't know how accurate that is, I'm guessing Angeli might rank higher on some boards... But short of having a McCord type transfer who started and performed well at the highest level, I love having two top 30 level guys come in and fight. I feel like the odds of having a great QB are higher that way than by bringing in one guy in the 10-15 range.
Partially because all your eggs aren't in one basket, partially because the competition is going to raise the level of play.
Agree. I just wrote that exact thing to a friend who I sent the article to. He seems to have come into his own covering the football team more. His last one about Fran a few days ago was an excellent piece of reporting and writing.Carlson does really good work.
If you feel that way, maybe brighten his day and let him know. Who doesn't like positive feedback?Agree. I just wrote that exact thing to a friend who I sent the article to. I'm optimistic that Collins will be the dual threat QB we are looking for. But I am ecstatic that the worst we can do is have Steve Angeli as our QB. I remember watching him play in the CFP thinking "why can't SU get a kid like this?" Question answered. Now lets get some competition going.
Good idea. Thanks for the suggestion. I will.If you feel that way, maybe brighten his day and let him know. Who doesn't like positive feedback?

Yea, I brought my wife, son, daughter, and her BF. The tailgate was great ( nice to meet many board members); I recall that Texas Mark was an organizer (among others). The game was a nightmare. I’m thankful for Tomcat’s advice in the 2nd half, to move out of our assigned seats in the blazing sun in the upper deck, to the lower deck where we were under the overhang.
That still smarts. I remember thinking, "Was the defensive coordinator on vacation the week before?" Syracuse was ranked at the start of the season, but fell into oblivion after that game. Did Dino spend too much time preening in front of the mirror about the 10 games they won the year before? I lost all confidence in the coaches after that game. That was the game I lost faith in Dino Babers. We were so poorly prepared and overmatched.
Our defense acted like the RPO offense Locksley has been running since he was in pee wee football in 1983 was some new exotic thing never seen before.
Without Dungey running his own offense, we were a bunch of clueless buffoons out there running around on offense.
Thank god those days are gone.
I've already got my spreadsheet set up.Genuinely looking forward to all the "thanks for manifesting this, Grotto" game thread messages when Angeli gets strip sacked or throws a pick 6 or something.
You gonna like, run macros or something?I've already got my spreadsheet set up.
I'll have to, depending on what he does to elicit the "thanks for manifesting this, Grotto" posts. You gonna like, run macros or something?
2 tight end sets vs our 3 man line all day. They put 2 helmets on a lineman and ran the same running play all freaking day. And they threw nothing but slants for 10 yards when they threw. We never shaded inside on those. Ever. Just gave them the throw. That was the game I lost faith in Dino Babers. We were so poorly prepared and overmatched.

I was there with UMD friends and it was the most brutal gut punch loss since 59-0 to VTech
