This is my opinion. Fran alluded to a portal qb. This kid is coming for a 2 day visit. If it was Johnson thinking of jumping this kid wouldn’t be interested. Johnson is 3rd in line. But if Williams is the guy it probably would perk Gibson’s interest more. We will see. I’m afraid it’s Williams. Hope I’m wrong.

I doubt Williams transfers to any Power Four school and starts right away. He would be a backup at best. He would have missed spring ball if he goes to another school. Why would it be any different being number two at SU or somewhere else? At least at SU he knows the system.

His thought may be to go to a mid-major where he can start right away, put up numbers, and cash in next year.

If MJ Jr is #2 that doesn't give me a lot of confidence. With the few game reps he got last year you could see he's not very good. Certainly not good enough to hand the keys to. If JW hits the portal over MJ that's not good.

I would like MJ Jr as a RB/WR hybrid player, but he just isn’t a good QB.

I am hoping Collins is the guy for the next 3 years... but still need competition in that room to keep people working hard. Even without injury.

You know what, MJ jr helped the program. It would have been a ton to ask a true freshman to be the safety net in case McCord ever went down. If a backup QB had to play there isn't anyone that could have replicated what McCord did, so we needed a guy that could offer something different, and MJ jr would have given us a whole different style.

Even though he didn't see a lot of game snaps he brought the program all kinds of value for his scholarship. I wish him the best wherever he lands.

This kid is the prototype transfer for where we are at. An experienced, unremarkable talent that few if any interested parties that could be our #3. Injuries can happen and this is a depth play that is the perfect type.
