Quade Green

HW and his family took a calculated risk signing with SU. I would think they thought that SU was in a downward turn after losing Green and gambled that they would not sign Carey or another similar point guard.

Maybe. But given the way his recruitment went and where he was rated and all that, it seems like a “cake and eat it too” if they’re actually upset about him not playing as a freshman at Syracuse. Better players get brought in at schools like Syracuse. Put the work in and try to earn a spot at some point. There’s a coach on the staff who did exactly that in his college career, in Allen Griffin. If instant PT was that important, go to Buffalo or something. This is Cuse...if you’re not a top notch recruit, there’s probably going to be better guys on the team than you at least for a couple years.

All true but it also comes down to what was said. To be clear, specific playing time wasn't guaranted but the opportunity isn't as significant as anticipated. Things change; it's all part of the game. This is a kid who's played at several schools in recent years so he's used to rolling with the punches and having to adapt. He won't make waves.
