Quadir Copeland & Kadary Richmond…

My post prior to the one you’re responding to touched on the eligibility issue and I have no problem with people taking issue with Q’s off the court stuff. What I take issue with is people discounting Q’s on court abilities as if we somehow were better without him. We weren’t and he absolutely would have helped us this year.
He would have been good for us this year but not as our main PG

So we were supposed to find a way for a guy that was flunking out to be on the team?
If his academic situation was really as bad as people are making it out to be, don’t you think there would have been some eligibility issues at McNeese State?

No matter what you think about the NCAA & the institution he went to, there are progress towards degree requirements that would prevent him from even playing if, in fact, he flunked out.

I’m sure he was a malcontent, and I am sure it was not a picnic coaching him. Many others that have survived 4 years at SU have been much, much worse.

Why are we talking about players who chose to leave SU?

Copeland isn’t good. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but McNeese won today despite him.

Kadary is very good. Kadary is in his 9th year of college ball.
We had a thread on salt potatoes last week. Why wouldn‘t we?
[Bought the taters Tuesday. Forgot I didn’t have enough salt…. That’s my life.]

Board has a meltdown when Kadary transferred, for good reason.

Which was on him. The school/staff didn’t look at Kadary and go, “ew, gross.” He had his demands and those demands couldn’t be met.

Idk why we talk about him like he loved Syracuse and wanted to be here but got treated unfairly. He was treated very fairly and decided Syracuse sucked.

Kadary leaving. Jesse leaving. Maliq leaving. These departures have signaled major issues with the program that haven’t been resolved.

Since then, Syracuse has sucked. Could have been different. Which is probably why he's still talked about so much.

He didn’t leave Syracuse and crush it, though. If he left and was then a star, I guess I’d get it. But he left and then took years to become a key player.

So Carlos + Bell < Copeland

And people here are saying he sucks?

Tell me you don’t know basketball without telling me you don’t know basketball.
Can't have win shares if you don't win...

This team wasn’t a Copeland away from being mediocre. This team was terrible, practically top to bottom. If Copeland was here, we still suck, we still miss the tournament, we still lament the state of Syracuse basketball.

And filled the stat sheet everywhere else

That's who he is

Yeah. I'm not saying he should have 7 turnovers a game, but they seemed to very much play a 'devil may care' style of basketball (purposefully).

You saw how it goes when working well, and how quickly it can fall apart at the end. And Q was often leading that charge.

It seems like what they want...I mean, instead of running out the clock they're still trying to do high degree of difficulty 180 dunks with 15 seconds left. Lol
