Question regarding Duke fanhood

I've only "quit" one team. That team is the NY Jets and it happened the second Geno Smith was drafted.

If you never attended Duke, have no family members who attended Duke, or you have never lived in reasonable geographic proximity to Duke, and yet you consider Duke your favorite college basketball team… can it be reasonably inferred that in terms of sports fandom, you're probably an insufferable bandwagon fan?

These are the kind of people who are Duke bball fans, but ND football fans. Despicable.

I have a colleague whose husband went to Duke, so she is now a big fan (they live in DC but go to at least a game a year). I think that qualifies. She was a mess when they lost in Round 1 as a two seed. She follows the football team too, and not just this year.

On a side note, last night she sent me a couple drunk-seeming messages on my work account saying SU was going down etc. It was especially amusing since at work she is very buttoned-down. Need to win so I can smile and wave at her Monday!
