  • When you look up competitor in the dictionary, there should be a picture of Dungey. great effort, particularly on that 1st down
  • In spite of the fumble which could have been game-changing, best Game from Strickland. That 1st TD gave us the confidence we needed.
  • 2 softest Offensive PI calls on Ishmael I've ever seen in my life, particularly considering how physical the Clemson DB's were. Huge calls, which i thought could cost us the game. The team showed great perseverance continuing to battle.
  • I know it was with 2 hands, but the catch by Renrow by the sidelines was one of the best catches I have ever seen. Etienne is going to be scary.
  • Ward called a great game on D
  • Pierce can play
  • Is our OL slowly growing up in front of our very eyes?
  • I was nervous when Bryant got hurt. Besides his health after being down that long, he was clearly limited and I wanted him in there that way.
  • Tip my hat to the D. After a slow start, came up big
  • How bad was Mack Brown? He was so bad, he consistently made comments that made no sense and contradicted himself several times (e.g. If it stays close, all the pressure on Clemson, advantage Syracuse...2 minutes later-If it stays close, Clemson knows how to win games, advantage Clemson).
  • Murphy came up big. Happy to see that
  • Talking heads on ESPN saying "program-changing win"-Will it be?

My additions.

Had to start fast and Did
3rd strings at DB came up big
Admin made a great call with tickets especially with the students.

In my opinion Bryant's concussion is on Dabo for having him in the game at all in the 2nd quarter. Players who are significantly injured (like Bryant) are more likely to suffer even greater injuries by playing. Dabo took a desperate risk. If Bryant had two legs he could plant with, I believe he would not have allowed Slayton to whip him around like a rag doll. Frankly, without the leg injury Slayton likely doesn't catch him like he did to begin with.

I too thought the PI penalties on Ish were the kind I see every game that don't get called. It looked to me like Ish was using his hand to know precisely where the defender is so his eyes can focus on the ball at the same time. Maybe Ish really was pushing but it was hard for me to tell.

mack brown was so biased against su it was disgusting. basically made excuses for clemson the whole game and was almost rooting for them, gave our ol and defense no credit most of the time

We must have watched different games because I didn’t come away with that exact impression at all. Might have to watch replay again

I wouldn't bother. Mack was fine even if he wasn't the best analyst. There's a certain number that always thinks the announcers are biased against us.

At the end of the game (when he got that final 1st down), Brown said that we would need to run 1 running play before taking a knee. The play-by-play guy tried to gently correct him.

The first PI call, while it sucked, was understandable. Ish extended both arms fully to create space for the ball. Yeah, he didn't really even touch him. But in the heat of the moment, both arms fully extended is a flag every time.

Mack Brown was repeatedly commenting on how Ish should be called for PI. The first call was questionable but the second was not PI. He kept going on and on about how Ish should know better. He is a tool along with Jesse Palmer.

I don't know about you guys but when the Clemson punter threw that pass it seemed like slow motion and having Riley miss the ball and it hit the intended near his hands...wow, that was a fright.

#2...If someone other than Dungey (Butler/Phillips) has the ball to throw it...you don't HAVE to throw it into double coverage. I thought Phillips could have taken off and got at least 8 yards.

The reality is the Fan is biased and therefore looks for evidence as to why the color analyst is rooting against one’s team.

The only area where I find this to be true is when Sean McManus does a Cuse game. Because he is a passionate alum with frustrations of a fan, he finds ways to get that all out there.

The worst though is in print. Pete Thamel. No better evidence of regression than going from Sports Illustrated to Yahoo Sports.

Both from a health and strategic standpoint, could not believe how long Dabo kept him in the game, particularly when you have 2 super-talented guys on the bench who have gotten a little game experience. Surprised they didn't play Hunter Johnson-their 5 star Freshman QB.

Agreed. Tirico is the same way -- he proudly roots for SU, and doesn't bother to hide it.

My quick take is that it was football. Not some come from behind theatrics or lucky play, last minute drive, etc.
Just plain football.
Those are the best wins for an 'underdog' Playing the game they love to play, never being down during the entire game, and coming out victorious!

I believe the PBP gently corrected him several times. I thought it was funny when Brown said the old adage about the Defense staying on the field too much and becoming tired and the PBP guy said, why does only the Defense get tired-Why not the Offense? Mack was stunned at the question and didn't know what to answer before finally coming up with that Defensive players don't know where the Offensive players are going to go.

I rarely see offensive PI called unless it is a major, blatant push off from the WR. Even then, it often isn't called.

i am not one of them. however in this case brown was horrible, even worse was that he was trying throw a bone here and there to hide his bias

I usually don't even notice announcers. Especially during a game like this, but Mack was terrible. He reminded me of Bob Knight calling a basketball game when you just knew he didn't have it anymore. Was hard to listen to. He did make it seem like Clemson would find a way to win all game, even though they never were ahead. It was annoying, but he was just bad at his job really. I like Mack too, and don't think he has any hate for SU.

I'm not arguing he wasn't terrible, just he wasn't "so biased" against us. The Ish thing had nothing to do with a bias against SU and more just bad commentating. He complemented SU offense and defense at times as well as specific play/players. I didn't hear any bias, all I heard was an announcer that wasn't very good.

That's why they're not running routes for Dungey.

I don't think Mack Brown added much to the telecast.

All he did throughout the night was say 'You can't do that if you want to win', when any player made a mistake.
Delay of game call - 'You can't do that if you want to win.'
False start - 'You can't do that if you want to win.'

The same banal comment over and over throughout the night.

I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again, but I don't know how Jesse Palmer is still employed.
