Beating Miami and going 11-1 gets us to the ACC Championship game. Not the playoffs. Lose the Championship game and we are a two loss team and we are denied. We need to win the conference or we are not going to the playoffs, which means to realistically have a shot we need to go 12-1. Win and we are in. Lose and we’re going to a very nice bowl game.

If we went 11-1, made it to the ACCCG and lost, as heartbreaking as that would be that would be a TREMENDOUS season and we would still get a really nice bowl game.

Would anyone here consider that unacceptable?

No. That would be awesome. I was simply stating that we literally need to win the conference championship in order to go to the playoffs because, unfortunately, a two loss Cuse team is not going to be selected as an at-large.

I don't think Clemson loses again. They are straight hammering teams. No doubt the best team in the conference. What they have done after their first loss has been ultra impressive.

Maybe SMU loses.

I think they have essentially locked up the conference title game

Anyone who doesn't understand that if Fran goes 11-1 including beating Miami, we are in. The networks in a case like that would ensure Syracuse gets in.
The hype for that game with Fran is what sells for the Networks. Anyone who believes these committees don't do what the Networks want, remember FSU.
