There are 37,000 high schools, with 1.1 million high school football players. There are 1,625 p5 scholarships available. You get noticed? Your pretty good, competition be damned.

East Marion has 94% of students on free, or lunch assistance. Only 305 students, with a 75% graduation rate.

Take one look at his pic. This kid has worked his ever loving @$$ off. He's benching 370, and squatting 530. Crazy. Whatever his situation, he is doing everything in his power to achieve his goal. If he's done the work in the classroom to boot? How can you not root for him?

Apologies. That wasn't meant to be directed at you, or imply you were rooting against him. Good story, good kid to root for, is all.

The # of high schools part was only partially a response to your competition points. Taj Harris is also in a small school(400), Cooper Lutz, etc.. Talent is where it happens to be. I was actually surprised there were 2 other p5's from the tiny schools you posted.

Have seen low level kids be studs cause they would do well no matter who they play. Who they play don't matter.

Point being? Height does not matter for a RB. Actually I'd prefer a shorter back. The shorter they are the better they can hide behind a line a little bit and the lower center of gravity they have. I'd say 5'-9" or 5'-10" is perfect.

I think all he is pointing out is that his hudl has him at 5'11 and this Rivals site lists him at 5'9. All this is the typical discrepancy with all these sites as to heights and weight. He is probably somewhere in the middle of the two.

In fact, the best running back in the history of SU Football not to wear #44 was our own 5’7” 190# fast, powerful and elusive wrecking ball Joe Morris. With a flashback look at his rushing touchdown for the 1985 super bowl winning G-men on the goal line shows the heart, strength, leverage and determination of a lion of a man who would not let anyone or anything allegedly larger or stronger stop him. This is what and who I see in the potential of Mr. Howard today.

Just a data point.
Ex. Tsamp is listed at 6'4 on crystal ball. 6'3 on Hudl. He's really 6'2. E ess PN sometimes takes an inch off kids. I suspect height discrepancies are common.
