Yeah. I'm not sure Shrader ever did much reading on the read option. But he made so many plays it was hard to criticize him.

Unless you think its clear and get blind sided by a guy you didn't see and then the team loses their starting QB. Hand offs are fundamental. Players should be expected to execute them. If risk aversion is a factor there, then a team should never throw inside the five.

He was consistently more confident in his ability to make the play than another guy. He probably had reason to feel that way.
