A source close to the recruitment of 4* Robert Washington tells me that the recent 4* commit to Mich has no bearing on Washington's decision

About Washington and Mich, the source said, "It's not a factor at all" when asked. "They are two different types of RB's" they added.

I think I know where Caliluv has gone.

Washington was rated a 4 star right out the gate by Scouts.com. I smell a 5 star player by senior year. I'm glad we got on him early. I think we get him that's my predication.

I went back and started reading some of the old posts and this is one of CaliLuv's posts from the first page. Obviously, this is before he identified himself as being someone who personally knows Robert. But I really hope his prediction from Oct 2013 is spot on still.

We need to have a series with Michigan. That is one hella-overrated program that we could beat.

Seems that their spring game left a lot to be desired to. their QB situation is a mess. Good defense, but not much on offense. Harbaugh may get them to a bowl game, but 7 wins is their ceiling at the moment.

So, doing a little research this morning, I found this on a Michigan forum. Granted, it's from mid-March and I don't think it's Caliluv, but this guy apparently is very well respected on the Michigan forum:

This is incorrect.

So, Harbaugh and I take it, Washington, still are very high on each other.

On the other hand, that same dude posted this yesterday:

"Obviously, there's a high likelihood that Washington ends up elsewhere anyway (he's the most recruited RB in the nation at this point in the process).

Steve, do you think Washington is still a 'take' for the staff if Falcon and Davis are in the fold?"

"Guessing no."

Good, I like that. Some of his other posts were blocked off, so I didn't catch that one.

I mean, I know that realistically, Michigan is still a strong option. I don't think Robert will be scared of any competition.

But on the flip side, they already have two RBs committed, and early playing time was one of his factors. I'll be at least a LITTLE surprised if he winds up there.

By the way, Kareem Walker is rethinking his commitment to Ohio State, according to ESPN recruiting (insider article). Among the schools he's thinking about checking out are Alabama and Rutgers. Obviously in this case, Alabama is the one to think about here with regard to Robert.

Are you kidding me, why would he even consider Alabama when he can go to Rutgers. :)

Ok crew - this is my maiden voyage on this forum! I've followed it for the last few years and your comments and views kept me going while going through a tough year battling cancer (beat that crap!!) I've been going to games since Ben was coach - my buddy who's father was a cop would sneak us in. Got season tickets when Mac was 2 and 9 - been through it all. I'm usually positive and feel good about a lot of what's going on up there.

Robert would be coming to a place where the true fans really appreciate the team! HCSS has been quietly building a solid foundation with young men who are talented, hard working, and most of all, seem to be of high character.

I really hope Cali keeps up on this group. I know we're behind Robert's decision (whatever that may be - ORANGE!), behind the team, and the coaching staff. I don't have the answer on what is allowed, but I would hope the rules are being completely followed, and we're also doing everything possible to show top talent and high character recruits what we have here - we're coming!
Nice first post. Welcome to the forum. And good luck battling the Big C!

The good news is that I have it on good authority that Shafer has in fact gotten in touch with Robert.

Sooo I was thinking with the down year that we've had between the football and basketball program...Would Robert Washington's commit be one of the, if not the best, things to happen to Syracuse sports (outside the Olympic sports) this year?

which anything since 2004, so over the last 11 years it's the best thing that could happen to Syracuse sports
