Recruiting 2021-2023

Harvard, Princeton, Brown, and Yale are all off to good starts for the 23 class especially given the assumption many had that they'd struggle to recruit this year coming off the empty season.

Penn, however, is nowhere to be seen.
 
Navy just picked up their 13 kid!!

A lot of the earlier Kelly's were actually cousins of Joshua.

Thanks, it's helpful to see it all laid out like this. The IL database is great when looking team by team, but when trying to look at the total list it's confusing. One quibble might be to bold or italicize the players already committed? Makes them stand out a bit.

Surprising. I'd have thought ACC or Princeton given the Brunswick connection. Ivies are faring better than most anticipated. Where are UVA and Maryland? Makes me think one of the two will land Millon.

Based on what happened last year, I assume the IVY's are doing everything they can to get the upper echelon kids they want in academically ( if that's an issue) and letting recruits know there will "generous" financial aid if they commit. I think it explains why they have had such success after they were dragged all off-season long for not playing.

One other thing to keep in mind for some of these IVY schools on fire early, you desperately want schools like Duke, UVA, ND and Maryland to start filling their classes because if they have openings into the spring of 2022 you will undoubtedly see several flips from IVY's to those schools, ND has especially haunted the IVY's with flips. This is a great get for Penn but his recruitment is far from over.
 
Wharton is a huge recruiting chip for a lot of these kids since so many lax players plan to go into business or finance.

The general Ivy pitch is always "elite education + lots of finaid" so not sure much has changed there. I just think the idea that was put forth by many that they'd struggle to recruit for the next few cycles given the 2021 season cancellation was off the mark. I guess kids just don't care or aren't worried about it happening again.
 
My opinion is some players will stay away from schools that are recruiting the transfer portal hard. Nothing like thinking it’s your turn to shine and the school you have been busting your butt for brings another player in essentially saying you aren’t good enough.

Not a bad theory. Rutgers doesn't have a single '23 recruit yet and I don't see them being major contenders for many of the remaining 4 or 5 stars. Perhaps they land the other Kurdyla brother since they already have one. But none of the other top NJ talent seem all that interested in them despite the elite eight appearance in 2021.
