I don't think so. Our offense definitely has enough speed. Our defense just isn't very good this season.

Speed wasn't our problem today, it was missed tackles and mistakes.

Seems their scatbacks were around the corner before our guys had an opportunity to tackle them. How about the missed angles, due to their speed? Geez, they tore up huge chunks....mostly to the outside, whereas we couldn't seem to get around the corner. We were outplayed.

Shedding blocks, missed tackles, and mistakes were far more crucial to our poor defensive performance than "speed". Thats just the reality of it. People act like our players are slugs trying to catch a frog or something we aren't THAT slow. Its just an easy excuse.

I don't even know how many times we had a player stopped, but gave up a first down due to a missed tackle.

It was also a numbers game. Allocate more players to the edge, get gashed up the middle and vice versa. Their offense rendered our blitzes useless, which is what we rely on. When we did blitz the QB, we missed the tackle.

This was a winnable game from start to finish. I just don't believe the offensive gameplan was very sound in the first half, and that put us in a hole and exhausted our defense. In heat like that, good luck making a comeback.

For the life of me, I'm still trying to understand why Morris started this game. That really baffled me.

the QB play (especially in the 1st half) was awful. Dungy stunk

The RB rotation needs to stop. This isn't T-Ball everyone doesn't need to play

All very true. And not taking anything away from USF, but it did seem like we were getting routinely / blatantly held outside on every swing out pass.

He definitely looked rusty in the first half. I give him a pass on that one under the circumstances. I didn't expect him to come out and look like Joe Montana.

But yeah, the RB committee thing is frustrating. I want us to just commit to Fredericks and ride that train for better or for worse. IMO we'll be better off for it.

Yeah I saw that too. I'm not really one to complain about the refs but it did look like there were a lot of holds that weren't called.
