Does anybody know how the decision to offer a FB player works at SU? Do assistants have authority to offer without Dino’s okay? Do they get only a couple of offers they can use? Does Dino approve every offer? Seems like a logistical nightmare to offer enough guys to bring in 20-25 guys each year.

Since they give verbal offers to around 300 kids per class the initial verbal offers come from the coaches and recruiting staff. Until they narrow down from the verbal offers who they are going to give written offers Babers isn't involved.

Thanks. So verbal offers would be conditional by the school until a written offer gets sent?

Verbal offers are conditional, unless of course it's a prospect high on the recruiting board, That is what you are seeing with early commitments who haven't received a written offer yet. Written offers don't go out until a prospect is a HS senior. Usually in August. An official, written offer shows proof that the verbal offer was commitable. Recruiting is never over until that NLI is signed.
