Recruiting with NIL

Doesn’t matter. Boosters are an extension of the school. The kids don’t just magically appear on their roster in the fall after playing at another school the year before.

Why not just have "schools" have a salary cap like the NFL? Of course who "polices" this could get interesting.

It seems that SU will always be like the Florida Marlins and hope for cheap young talent and transfers.

Because it's not the schools paying. It would be like the NBA capping how much Nike could pay Lebron.

So, would you rather SU be the CFL Marlins with a couple of rings but a LOT of horrible seasons or the Rays with no rings (couple of Series appearances) but consistently good???

I think he would rather be like the Bucs, in a league where small market teams are on a much more level playing field and have nearly the same chance of getting and retaining talent as the wealthier programs.

What model?
They keep guys by stressing the Wake Forest education, according to Clawson. If it works for Wake, it certainly could work for SYR. I guess it didn’t work with Chestnut, Carter, Linton and Greer, all great players lost in the portal. Wake's been to 7 straight bowls with an 11 win season thrown in. I'd sign up for that in a heartbeat for Cuse.

But Dino has been doing that since he got here. Clawson didn’t invent that.

But Clawson lost Sam Hartman (Notre Dame), Rondell Bothroyd (Oklahoma), Gavin Holmes (Texas) and Christian Turner (Indiana). His strategy doesn't appear to have worked any better than ours.

It’s not the schools.

There’s no way that people are making NIL offers to kids without the head coach and AD knowing about it and green lighting it.

The bag men should be considered agents of the schools and tampering penalties should be enforced. * #

* If only there were such tampering in the lawless world of college football.

# unless we do it.
