Recuiting targets for NEXT year?

Jeff Demps is literally one of the fastest guys in America. He's an Olympic qualifier. Syracuse would need to find one of the fastest kids in high school that isn't going on a full ride to a giant school for track. We can dream, but I highly doubt there will be many kids to play at demps' speed in the next 10 years.
I realize this, major pipe dream, but i could watch that run all day. One of the craziest things I've ever seen.

I wouldn't take him unless he can play DE. We have two great TE's coming in, and we got Addazio last year. Beaulieu and Wales will both be back next year too. No need to waste a recruiting slot on a position with a lot of depth, especially when there are positions that need more quality depth.

Gotta disagree... first of all, Wales doesn't factor in. He will be a senior by the time Provo is on campus. I do not expect anything from Beaulieu at the position, would certainly be happy to be wrong, but I think best case scenario Max ends up an athletic blocker and occasional pass-catcher. Ditto for Addazio. So pretty much, once Wales and Stevens are gone, you are completely reliant on two kids who haven't even made it to campus yet for fireworks from the TE position. Yeah... I'd be happy with Provo2.0.[/quote]

Absolutely, to get really cliche-y, it's poetry in motion. Demps and Rainey have that really smooth speed, but they're also pretty undersized. I guess if Doug thinks a kid like Rene could make a difference, there would be space for a pint-sized burner on the team.

Here's a list of offers that have made for 2013 kids - per another site:

DT Greg Webb
DE Dajaun Drennon
OL John Montelus
ATH Wyatt Shallman
OL Steve Elmer
TE Tyler Provo
OL Patrick Kugler
LB Dorian O'Daniel
DT Darius Commissiong
DE Jake Butt
QB Shane Morris
LB Mike McCray
DE Kevin Robbins
QB Milan Collins
WR Corey Smith
OL Alexander Officer
WR Reggie Davis
OL Derwin Gray
RB Keyante Green
DE Tashawn Bower
DE Taco Charlton
Greg Webb and Dajuan Drennon were at the Carrier Dome for the SU-Rutgers game and definitely enjoyed their visit.

So yeah, they have some pretty good offers... wow.

Webb would be huge... if we could bring in him and Wayne Williams, oofah, our DT rotation would feature similar size as the premier defenses in the country.

Also I see we're showing interest in Marcel Lazard, who goes to my former high school.

You may be right but it sure would be nice to have a true 4.5 kid who can hit a crease and routinely take it 60, 70 yards to the house. While those kids aren't exactly common either, they are out there. Hopefully, McFarlane or maybe Perkins/Morris is one.

My guess is Syracuse will have a class rated between 35-39 next year.

Wondering if anyone has specific knowledge of the players we are looking at. Maybe have seen them play and willing to share. Thanks

I'd settle for a Robert Drummond Type RB (Besides Rouse) from CNY JD,WG ,CBA,BVILLE any AA School in Sect 3. There are a handfull that pass the look test.

Let's stop the PSU talk for a bit and talk about Syracuse! :D

Does anyone know any kids the coaches are targeting(insert Sandusky joke here), for next year's class?

I'd like to see a higher rated class, as we'll be able to play the ACC card for all of next year. Here's the list of the kids we've offered for next year, so far. http://syracuse.At their request, t...ked from this site./a.z?s=185&p=9&c=4&yr=2013

What's the New York talent look like for next year, too?

These are what the ACC classes are ranked so far this year, by Scout.

1.)Miami (#6)
2.)Florida State (#8)
3.)Clemson (#9)
4.)Virginia (#17)
5.)Virginia Tech (#18)
6.)Pittsburgh* (#19)
7.)North Carolina (#31)
8.)North Carolina State (#51)
9.)Syracuse* (#54)
10.)Georgia Tech (#55)
11.)Boston College (#57)
12.)Maryland (#58)
13.)Duke (#66)
14.)Wake Forest (#73)

To expand on a previous comment, next year we bring in a large Big 10 area group (3-5 players).
They have been working Wheatleys contacts hard for several years. Its a deep year out there and two of the usual powers are down in Ohio State and Penn State.

Prince Tyson Gulley is one.

Wouldn't mind that. However, if we're not going to move Max then I see no point with signing Provo.

If both of our incoming TE's play next year, and play well we would be able to redshirt Provo 2.0 giving 2 year class seperation. We need to have enough capable TE's on roster. I'd think 5 or 6 TE's is a good number to have based on how we use them.

I know Kugler visited when we were recruiting his older brother a few years ago. They were originally from Buffalo but when their dad got fired from the Bills they moved to PA.

I was hoping there might be one more Gronkowski left, but that dream died in Manhattan, KS.
