Problem with Howard is that he's a RG3 tweener asked to fill a Peyton Manning role. He has skills but just doesn't have the ability to execute an on the fly offense.

Why can't we have a pass first PG and be happy about that? He'd still be leading the league in assists if White could hit a shot against actual players or if DC didn't every easy bucket.

Point guards don't need to be scorers. They need to be game managers. We can disagree on the scoring part but you must agree that he showed promise as a point guard last year. This year he looks completely lost.

Ok, well, I've never seen him manage a game against a top 100 team yet. Still waiting.

Even Kaleb managed the game against Nova a couple of years back.

He's our best rebounder and a far better defender than Andrew White. And he's proven that over the last 3 seasons. This year, it's a fait complete that he'd be benched. And it had nothing to do with what's best for the team.

I by no means think the kid is a savior. First, I just like rooting for him. Seems like a good kid. Second, he can rebound, provides some continuity from teams that actually played well together as he was a big part of the past three years, and maybe we get some better something. LOL. It's not like his 8 points a game by replacing Coleman in my lineup is going to cut our PPG by 50%. So he misses 4 out 5 bunnies instead 3 out of 5. I'll live with it.

I'm actually okay with keeping White in my starting lineup though. But, I'm using Thompson liberally.

I don't think I've ever seen a worse drop off from a player...especially going into senior year!

when you give 3 years to a program, and then your coach benches you in your senior year in favor of a trash grad transfer one-trick pony, I can imagine your confidence getting shook.

I'd play Lydon at center most of the time. I like Roberson. I find most of the this team not-so-likable.

Lydon/Roberson/White/Battle/Howard.

I would rarely play Gillon or Coleman.

Thompson would sub in for White/Roberson/Lydon as needed.

Seriously, though, one of these coaches needs to fix Howard. And the one that broke him needs to be fired. He seemed overly confident last year, made some dynamite thread the needle passes, now he's bumbling mess. Fix HIM!!!!

Also, I would teach them how to screen. Dear god. Who is in charge of that? I'd fire that guy too.

Long long time lurker. This is my first post. Spot on. Roberson to me is likeable. What Jim has done to him is a travesty. We are getting smoked by bad teams and he sticks with the guys getting beat. Tyler deserves better IMO. I feel sorry for him.

Howard may have looked better last year because the team around him had more talented scorers. The chemistry last year was better than this year. This team looks like a bunch of parts that don't fit together.

Where i sat yesterday is that we gave up 90 points to SJU...So, cool, the answer is to play a 5th year senior who does nothing at all on the defensive end and isn't as good offensively as he's heralded to be...

White is WAY OVERRATED! And worse off, Roberson has been treated like a first year player. Without him last year, we don't get to the regional final...

He should be playing more. JB has been horrible to him for four years. It's to Tyler's credit that he stuck it out. And enough of this motivating the player bullshit. Most kids today do not respond well to public humiliation. Nor would most adults.

I think Lydon at the 5 moving forward may be the play. Coleman is a liability. Lydon, Roberson, White with Battle and Frank - Gillon and TT off the pine. DJC emergency 5. Slow the tempo way down - fire a ton of 3's and hope for the best.

Playing Roberson over Thompson or Lydon is not the move. They are the only two guys that can score.
