Reminder - Mickey D's tonight at 9 on ESPN

He needs to rebound to play the 3, and I don't see rebounder. He shies away from the paint. So he's a 2, but I don't see him playing much behind Cooney, not if he doesn't hustle and play defense.

So maybe 5 minutes a game.

You can see the talent, but he needs to get dirty more often.
Exactly, Cooney and Gbinije are not going to come out of the game a whole lot, and Malachi looks like a perimeter player/spot up shooter. Not a lot of minutes to be had in the backcourt.

I'm not going to comment on Malachi and his perceived weaknesses, but I will say that we need toughness at Syracuse. Diagne will bring that. Bryant would bring that in big way. IMO we have been sort of a soft team. It would be great having a true enforcer in there...and a guy who will hustle. Bryant is all of that and plays with a swagger and attitude we lack.

It's great to see what a competitive game this was so far being the scrimmage was a blowout.

Actually encouraged by malachi even though hes playing like . . . . . His handle looks better than expected. Im not worried about him missing shots.
Yup, worked hard on his handle these past two years.

Maybe it's been said before, but I didn't realize that Ben Simmons' Godfather is David Patrick

What is it with the recruits who are shooters that cant shoot? Its an all star game.. but would be nice to see our recruits put some fear in our opponents too...

When was the last time we had a MDAA do well in the game itself? Melo?

It's troubling to see a guard like Malachi who is not aggressive, especially compared to the other guards out there..maybe I just expected too much from our highest rated recruit.

Apparently there are 5 schools in the hunt for Bryant...and Syracuse is not one of them.

I will say this, as a shooter it's sometimes hard to get into a game playing limited minutes.

Why exactly did we shy away from Briscoe? Was it because he wouldn't want to play behind Ennis for 2 years? :bat:

This is the biggest myth in basketball I believe. Guys like Steve Novak, Steve Kerr and other specialists in the league have no problem coming off the bench and nailing 3s. Whether you're playing 40 or 10, if you can shoot, you can shoot.

In fairness mccullough looked the same last year in the all star games

Why are they playing in nutters and undershirts?

But he also was going up against Okafor and Towns, and giving away 50 plus lbs. Richardson is just floating around on the perimeter.

Don't think it's a myth at all, you just named the elite of the elite shooters. Its hard to come into a game cold and go off. The only person I can remember do it for us is dirty. Waiters, Joseph and so forth were all slashers first. Its easier to get going once you make a few was ones.

Yet CM thinks he's ready.

He was overmatched in the all-star games last year.
