NC State's Mark Gottfried Fired

It was announced on Thursday that Mark Gottfried has been removed as Head Coach at NC State

It was announced by several outlets that the head coach of NC State, Mark Gottfried, has been removed from his position.

Several rumors were swirling around about the news before hand but it is now official. Gottfried had coached at NC State for five-plus year and held 122-82 overall record.

After reaching the NCAA Tournament, with their last appearance in the 2014-2015 season, NC State finished last year 16-17 (5-13 in the ACC) and currently holds a 14-13 overall record this season (3-11 in the ACC).

He will finish out the remainder of the season.

Unless a college coach did something "bad" that does not involve simply bad coaching, they should never be fired during the season.
