With 7 teams in the other conference and one permanent rival, I think an extra in conference game will leave us with plenty of variety. I think the more exposure in conference, the better.I don't like it. I like playing OOC teams. I makes for some variety.
Where has that been reported? Please provide a link.what say does he have...isnt he out the door?
All over the boards since before Marrone and Nancy said goodbye.Where has that been reported? Please provide a link.
Meaning what? Nothing? All over the boards since before Marrone and Nancy said goodbye.
To each his own, but I like playing teams from different parts of the country. I think one of the things that has slowly been lost in college football over the last 20 years or so is the number of good OOC games. I liked when we could see some sprinkled in the middle or toward the end of the season. Now, after they're all played in the first 2 or 3 weeks. With 7 teams in the other conference and one permanent rival, I think an extra in conference game will leave us with plenty of variety. I knew someone would say that. It's not the same. With the amount of times we play teams in the other division - they are basically OOC teams now.

Along with the secret negotiations between Oklahoma and the Big Ten?Sorry, it's only being discussed on the payside.

How so? We haven't played Duke in the dome, ever. With the current schedule we won't play them again for 4+ years or something. Miami and VT? Not in a long time.
What's the difference between OOC and the other division? Penn State vs Georgia Tech last season? It affects our conference standing - but thats really it.
There's just a different feel to it. Maybe it's because nobody else in the conference will have played our OOC opponents. Maybe it's because I won't see their name in the conference standings. I'm not sure what it is, but my preference would be for all of the conferences to play only 7 conference games and play 5 OOC games, at least 3 of them peer level. I know that would probably mean seeing teams play 4 scrubs and 1 one decent team, which is the reason my feelings aren't all that strong about it. If, however, teams did play more decent teams out of conference and later in year, I feel like it would bring more excitement, and an incentive for people to follow more teams nationally instead of regionally. How so? The NCAA is all but certain to pass the ACC plan to deregulate mandates about divisions to host a Championship game. And that means we can move to an 8 game schedule of 3 annual rivals, with the remaining 10 teams divided equally. With 7 teams in the other conference and one permanent rival, I think an extra in conference game will leave us with plenty of variety.
