Rewatching clemson

Getting pumped for game tomorrow.

First half thoughts:
-devito basically was flawless, maybe he missed some wrs at some point, but i didnt see any mistakes
-our cbs played amazing, props to frederick and iffy
-foster and cisco basically go for big hits and bite hard on fakes.
-our dline didnt let clemsons oline get much of a push
-herby kept giving clemsons dl credit but our oline wasnt getting manhandled. It was legit bad communication, like not picking up the right guys or two linemen going after same guy
-harris is terrible on jump balls. Against liberty, he had one that was catchable and didnt get hands on it. Clemson was tougher but same thing. Was hoping for a big jump but i guess hes a true soph and still very young.

Dino is wrong about devitos pick. Adams was open but way earlier. Even if that guy stays down, its a pick. Thats on devito.

Couple last thought on second half:

-howard doesnt seem to hit the hole all that hard to me. I rather have adams get the goal line carries
-the play calling after trills pick was terribly bland. Oc has to be better than that.
-ppl talk a lot about the lack of the middle field but what about the quick hitches aka outside runs we used to run frequently w success?
-props to lbs. lakiem williams is doing very well in there.

Appreciate the honesty. Everyone in the world makes mistakes. Knowing the truth behind the matter is nice, it may be frustrating in the moment, but these are he moments that will shape Tommy into an above average QB. Watch out for the second half of this season... I expect big things! Thanks for your insight!

This! My biggest criticism of Tommy this year. He has actually escaped pressure well a few times and found a ton of space and time out to the right of the pocket. He has made 0 plays in those situations with neither the pass or a run. I’m not sure he sees the field well when flushed out of the pocket.

The only thing he did wrong on that pass was he didn't air mail it. He threw to a spot figuring no one was there and the guy had gotten up. Next time some young kid gets a souvenir for about ten seconds. Go Orange!!!!

I hate to say it, but the one who gets stonewalled on those goal line carries is Elmore. He doesn't move anybody out of the way and the back gets stuffed.

Exactly but if you slow the play down going sideways and backwards he had to kick and throw and to answer a different post you are correct time to make plays when he escapes

He will. I feel kind of weird about today's game. I keep going from very nervous to very excited and confident that today they put it together. Just don't want to lose to Lester. Shafer and that BS cigar still give me nightmares. Go Tommy, Go Orange!!!!!!!!

Wish more parents were like you care taker. These players are kids. The game is full of mistakes. There is no shame in that. It’s how fast you learn from it and reduce them. You will never eliminate them.

there were a couple times me and the guys in my section were screaming like school children because are wr had someone beat deep down field but the ball was dumped off to a short route . but when your running for your life i cant blame ya

absoloutely love the poise and leadership tommy showed staying out for the alma mater he can ball, he needs to be better protected and just tweak a few things (also get the run game going). it is true about what fans say after a game because there all jacked up, i experienced it saturday because i was one of them. im not happy to admnit it but now i understand why you should neverrrrrr read a gamethread lol

This isn’t to knock Tommy at all, some of the plays are there at different times. There aren’t always players to throw to once he’s scrambling but there are some plays to be made just before that. I think if he was able to step forward in more of those situations he’d be better off. I don’t know if he’s being coached to slide left/right out of the pocket every time but once he’s flushed out he doesn’t have the experience yet playing D1 to make plays.

In reply to another post, he has escaped right a lot and had time but if you look at his feet and body, he’s actually not in a great position to make most of the throws on the field. He’s running to the right but not forward in anyway, sometimes because he can’t. But just because he’s moving right and has some time doesn’t mean he’s still in a position to make plays. With a couple of adjustments in his body/feet he can but the situations before he wasn’t in a position to make most throws even though he had some space.

Dino's style is to deflect criticism of indviduals and even units, even if it's to another unit, (that wasn't criticized), i.e.: the O-line looked bad but the backs and wide receivers made mistakes. It emphasizes that it's a team game.

I agree with the point earlier that Adams should get the goal line carries. I like Howard, but Adams has shown an even better nose for the end zone in limited chances so far IMO. He gets low and runs hard.
