Rex is a player's guy. He once used a Jets draft pick on Sanchez's best friend because he made a promise to his QB, despite the fact that players were on the board who the staff wanted. He's loyal to his guys and he'll certainly keep things interesting in Buffalo.

His YPC and yards after initial contact his final year in Baltimore was beyond awful. Rice is washed up. I know the Browns are kicking around the idea of signing him but at his age and his diminishing skills I would be shocked if a team actually did sign him. Not to do with the off the field incident, just because he hasn't been good in a while

From Fairburn's practice returns on syracuse.com, it sounds like EJ has really thrown some horrendous passes in practice so not surprised to hear that

2 drives so far and knock on wood, Cassell looks great. Our backup fg kicker, not so much.

Yeah I was just looking at the stats on espn.com and it seemed like a positive start for Cassell. Just saw the TD by Williams on Red Zone.

We may implode, who knows, but if Cassell or Taylor turns out to be an average QB it would take a seriously bad coach to mess up all the talent and depth he has at his disposal and say what you want about Rex but he's not a bad coach.
I don't even know that Rex is the biggest coaching factor in Buffalo.. Greg Roman may very well be the reason this team goes to the next level.
It's one preseason game but all I see on message boards is Cassell/Taylor comparisons to Smith/Kaep in San Fran. Both looked very good tonight.

I'm not trying to on your parade. I'm a Bears fan, I know how a good game or good preseason game ends up meaning nothing for most of the season. Or for that matter a good first half and then never see it again, lol. I have a ton of friends that are Bills fans so it's fan to rag on them about Rex but again, my comments are meant to bust your b@lls and not be a jerk off.
That is easy. Who starts more games Matt Simms or Jimmy Garoppolo? Anyone who isn't trolling and has read these briefs realizes how much the NFLPA is kicking the NFL's a$$ in court.

i want brady suspended because hes an arrogant punk who cheated to win his Lombardi's, but i also would like him to play v dallas...so whatever.

Beyond the Brady stuff which I am fine with good fashioned legitimate smack hate. How can you like Roger Goodell? He is a hack and highly paid pinata. Who lies more than politicians. He screwed up Rice and Peterson.cases royally. I mean anyone who doesn't think he or the NFL management council hadn't seen that Rice tape before TMZ are FOS. He did the lockout and the owners with power Jones/Kraft/Mara/Rooney bailed him out in the negotiating room.
The way he has handled this Brady case honestly is textbook defamation if Brady wanted to sue. Brady won't sue because then the discovery would open his personal life even more publicly and he doesn't need the money.
Goodell has shown me he really is dumb and the NFL is succeeding in spite of him. I mean that ruling on the appeal Goodell blatantly lied about what happened. I can't believe he and the NFL lawyers never thought a federal judge would unseal that and show the truth. Even if people think Brady cheated which is fair a take the NFL has totally screwed this case up. I just want the NFL Commish to testify in Court and for once in his life not lie and say integrity or independent investigation without the protection of his arrogance.

Bills fans who are watching the replay or saw the game... Thoughts on Karlos Williams? I loved his running style at FSU and was ecstatic when we drafted him. I love FJax but I'm not sure we haven't found ourselves a thunder/lightning duo with McCoy/Williams.

i dont think he screwed up rice. it shouldve been 4 games, maybe 6...and the NFLPA wouldve cut it down. we all know what he did, didnt need to see a video to decide the degree of badness. it was a moment of weakness, 1 in which he seems truely apologetic and depressed about...and now his ability to play football and make a living is ruined. i feel for him.
goodell did his damnest to help the young man still have an opportunity to make a living playing football. which obviously...that is no longer the case.
i dont have a problem with peterson either. he admitingly was beating his son, him. 1 year was not enough.
as for brady, that cheating sonofabitch clearly was flaunting the rules, goodell has the power to smack him. he did. brady then went the legal route, which would prove him to be right. the question is whether this judge abides by the cba or overrules and strips the commish of his power to enforce.
regardless, if a work stoppage happens because of this, my hate for brady will be intensified a trillion times as he will have done his best to ruin the great game of football.
Just an FYI and we can let this go. This issue before the court is whether Goodell can prove he was evident partial when he rendered the verdict. That is the law of the 2nd court in NY. This CBA article 46 is FOS and the judge can easily dismiss. if the Judge finds Goodell wasn't impartial in the arbitration hearing good bye to the finding. He wouldn't be stripping the commish of his ability to enforce. He would be saying you weren't fair and open minded like a factfinder has to be.
If you read those transcripts which I wouldn't blame you not for doing since they are over 450 pages. You see how little understanding of the law Goodell has and in rendering his verdict LIED ABOUT what actually happened. That is going to allow the judge if he wants to rule against the NFL show it was evidently impartial thus the article 46 stuff is useless.
The brief by Kessler last night was a direct blow to Goodell's creditability.

Williams was a huge back and I would think will be your goal line back. If Williams can pass block then Bryce Brown or Anthony Dixon could be traded.
